Raymond William Schultz of Salem, Ark., son of the late Carl William and Frieda Maria Theresa Seboldt Schultz was born July 17, 1924, in Springfield, Mo.
He died April 5, 2006, at his home in Salem at the age of 81.
Schultz was united in marriage to Dorthy Fay Taylor on Dec. 26, 1980, at Kansas City, Mo.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He worked for Standard Roofing Company and later owned his on roofing company.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, where he sang in the choir.
He worked with the Boy Scouts. He was a member of the Roofing Association and the VFW.
Survivors include his wife, Dorthy Schultz of Salem; one son, Sam Schultz of Springfield; three daughters, Heidi Scroggins [46450] and husband, Larry [46449], of Kansas City, Ramah Cosby and husband, James, of Olive Branch, Miss., and Lema Easley and husband, Rick, of Kansas City; nine grandchildren, Rachel Almstedt [46452] and husband, Jon [46453], Yancy Scroggins [46451], Ranea Brown and husband, David, Sarah Ramsey and husband Bradley, Michelle Chapman and husband, Ricky, Lisa Easley, Katie Easley, Kyle Easley, and MacKenzie Easley, Conner Brown, Noah Brown and Mason Rogers and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters.
The funeral services were held April 8 at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Horseshoe Bend with pastor David Tews officiating. Interment was in the Salem Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Yancy Scroggins, Kyle Easley, Jon Almstedt, David Brown, Ricky Chapman and Bradley Ramsey.
Honorary pallbearers were were Woodrow Hodges, Shane Rogers, Carnie Sokol and Ray Wolfgang.

SCROGGINS, DR. DON S. - director of Institutional Research and Assessment at the University of Tennessee, died Monday April 10, in Knoxville. He was 58. The cause was heart failure. Dr. Scroggins had been on the Institutional Research staff for 26 years. He began there while still in graduate school and went on to serve as assistant and interim director before being appointed to the director's position in 1996. The office is responsible for a wide variety of statistical studies ranging from university enrollment patterns and faculty salary levels to assessing the effectiveness of academic units. Dr. Scroggins was born in Decatur, Tenn. But as the son of a Methodist minister, he lived in Kingsport, Johnson City, Jasper, Athens and several other communities where his father was a pastor of United Methodist churches of the Holston Conference. He attended a number of public schools and was graduated from Ketron High School in Sullivan County in 1965. He attended East Tennessee State University and was graduated in 1969 with a degree in music. He was an accomplished pianist. He taught music in the Hawkins County public schools for several years before enrolling in the graduate program in the College of Communications at the University of Tennessee. He received a master's degree in 1976 and a doctor of philosophy degree in communication in 1982. His dissertation was a study of the origins ad development of public radio in Tennessee. For a number of years, Dr. Scroggins taught a course in research methods for the College of Communication in addition to his full time duties in Institutional Research. Dr. Scroggins was a veteran collector and dealer in antiques and for a number of years maintained a booth in a Knoxville antique mall. He also collected folk art and books and raised both Scottie and Westie dogs. He was the son of the late Rev. Roy Edward Scroggins and the late Neva Shultz Scroggins of Athens. He is survived by John Bailey, his partner of 27 years; two sisters, Nola Hubbard and Jo Blount both of Athens and a brother, Roy E. Scroggins Jr. of Rising Sun, MD. Private services are planned. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley and the Tennessee Scottish Terrier Rescue Society.

Born Aug. 24, 1912, in Monarch, W.Va., to Benjamin F. and Emma Kissinger Ratcliff, she married George E. Scoggins on May 8, 1940, in Charlottesville, Va. He died Feb. 1, 1975, in Peoria. One daughter, Anita Scoggins, and four brothers also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Emma Jean Tavana of Washington; one sister, Gertrude Coleman of Huntington, W.Va.; three grandchildren.
She worked at Caterpillar Inc. for many years, retiring in 1978 as head secretary of the accounting department.
She was a member of Peoria Christian Women's Club and the Caterpillar Girls Club. She attended Grace Presbyterian Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home, where visitation will be one hour earlier. Entombment will be in American Mausoleum.

He was born Aug. 7, 1936, in St. Louis, the son of Earl and Evelyn Dickey Scoggins. He married Patricia "Pat" Alessandrini in 1956.
Mr. Scoggins retired as a truck driver after 47 years and most recently worked for ABF Trucking. He was a member of St. Cabrini Church and was a Teamster. He was president and coach of the Dale Tuebner Little League and coached in the late 1960s and 1970s for St. Cabrini School.
Survivors: wife, Patricia; three sons, Terry (wife, Sue), Kevin (wife, Barbara) and Tim (wife, Liz) Scoggins, all of Springfield; daughter, Mari Kay (husband, Joe) Hannah of Kernersville, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; mother, Evelyn Scoggins-Ryon of Springfield; brother, Ed (wife, Barbara) Scoggins of Springfield; two aunts; an uncle; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

DRY RIDGE - Robert C. Scroggin, 71, died Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Edgewood.
He was a serviceman for Sears, former operator of Scroggin & Sons Equipment, a reserve patrolman for Kenton County and Covington, town marshal for Latonia Lakes, former chief of Oak Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, member of Kentucky Cattlemen's Association of Grant County and Col. Clay Lodge F&AM, Covington.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Tallent Scroggin; sons, Robert W., Jonathan and Frederick R. Scroggin; sisters, Maxine Kennett and Carnelta Allman; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today and service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown. Burial will be in Mount Pisgah Cemetery, Dry Ridge.

Gladys Conner Scroggin [44133]
(Posted 1 Apr 2006)Gladys Conner Scroggin passed away on March 19, 2006, in Plano, Texas, where she resided in Heritage Manor Medical Center since June 2005. Born on July 7, 1920, in Cushing, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of U.S. and Frances Conner. The Conner family moved from Cushing to Oklahoma City in 1923. She graduated from Central High School and Blackwood Davis Business School. She married Hal Scroggin and resided in Shreveport, Louisiana for many years and returned to Oklahoma City after the death of her husband in 1974. She was a longtime member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, U. Sam Conner. She is survived by son, Dr. Don Scroggin, wife, Julie, and grandson, Patrick of Washington, D.C.; son, Stephen Scroggin, wife, Yvonne of Dallas, Texas; sister, Peggy Herring and husband, Gene of Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews. Private graveside services will be held in Shreveport, Louisiana, where her ashes will be interred in a grave beside her husband.

| BENJAMIN, KENNETH DELOSS Funeral for Kenneth Deloss Benjamin, 87, of Birmingham, AL, who died March 10, 2006 with his family by his side, will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 13, 2006 at Ridout's Trussville Chapel with Rev. Rick Owen officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. A native of Rockford, IL, Mr. Benjamin lived in Birmingham most of his life. He was a member of Huffman United Methodist Church and Faith Sunday School Class. He retired from Union Oil Company after 39 years of service and was a veteran of the US Army WWII. Pepaw was an avid football and basketball fan who could be heard above all the crowds. He loved motivating his children and grandchildren to play their hardest and be their best in any sporting event and in their lives. He also enjoyed working, gardening and fellowshipping. He was a gifted carpenter and handyman and he built many homes in central Arkansas over the years. He taught his family the importance of commitment, dedication and giving 100% at every task. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union and worked until he physically was not able. Gardening was one of his favorite hobbies and he enjoyed planting, harvesting and eating the fresh fruits and vegetables. Although his bride was the expert cook, over the years he became acclimated to the kitchen and boasted to prepare the best turkey and dressing. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Evelyn Jean Dugger; four sons, John Dugger and wife, Linda, Gary Dugger, Tim Dugger, and Mark Dugger and wife, Terri, all of North Little Rock; seven grandchildren, Kevin Dugger, Kristin Melton and husband, Van, Ron Dugger, Jon Dugger, Ashley Miller, Dylan and Hannah Dugger; three great-grandchildren, Garet Melton, Savana Melton, and Abbi Miller. Mr. Dugger was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Bina Lee Dugger; two brothers, Edgar and Calvin Dugger; four sisters, Irene Homesly, Allie Scroggins, Fannie King, and Ruby Roberson. She was born in Ferdinand, Ind., and was a retired dental assistant for more than 32 years for Dr. Arthur Welsh. Irene was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, the church's ladies guild and senior citizens and a member of the Buechellites. She is survived by her loving husband, Dan Scroggins Sr.; a son, Johnny Scroggins Jr. (Wendy); five daughters, Carol Krampe (Edward), Barbara Zoglmann (Pat), Jennifer Rosenbaum, Therese Haas and Mary Jo Absher (John); nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mostly healthy, she had dementia the final 10 years of her life. Eileene was born in Portland, Oregon to "Mac" and Jessie McArthur. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, Victor J. Catania and sister, Jeanne. She is survived by daughters; Gail Oblinger, Vicki and husband, Dick Robertson, Marty, and husband, Truman Lakin, and Nancy and husband, Ray Scroggins. The 6 who called her "Gramalene" are Paul and Austin Sisemore, Linda Pozun, Rich and Tina Robertson, and Jeffrey Scroggins. She also has 7 great-grandchildren; Jesse Osenbaugh, Jeanette Eckert, Paul Sisemore, Rich, Raemi and Ryan Robertson, and LeAnne Pozun. She also has 4 great-great-grandchildren. Eileene is "Momalene" to Catrina Chen Lee. Eileene was a member of Canyon Hills Assembly of God Church, past and charter member of Women of Italian Heritage. The family would like to thank especially Esther Maese and Julia Lilly of The Gables where Mom lived for 5 years; her caregivers the past 8 months at Evergreen Healthcare and Dr. Frank Chang. Eileene graduated from Willows High School, Willows, CA in 1932. She met Vic while a college student in San Francisco. Eileene worked for the State of Calif., Camp Fire Girls and San Francisco Ship Yards at Treasure Island in WWII. Many times she mentioned that the raising of her children was her most satisfying job. She was an accomplished pianist who gave piano lessons, donated time at rest homes and with Bakersfield Community Theater. For fun Eileene liked to go to Greenhorn, the coast, travel, crochet, play pool, and Bible Study. She was a faithful intercessor prayer warrior and her greatest interest of all was things having to do with learning more about Jesus. Cremains will be at interred at Hillcrest Memorial Park. DICUS, Vada Ailene Died quietly at her home early Saturday morning
January 21, 2006 after a valiant battle with cancer. She was surrounded
by her loving family during her long and difficult illness. She and her
husband Douglas were together for 42 years, residing the last 30 in
Santa Rosa. Born Vada Ailene Scroggins in Eugene, Oregon, 65 years ago
to parents Norman and Nola Scroggins. She graduated from Springfield
High School with honors, receiving several academic scholarships. She
continued on to the University of Oregon at Eugene, earning a Bachelor
of Arts Degree in Foreign Languages and a Masters of Arts in Education.
She was a member of the Pi Delta Phi (National French Honorary) and the
Phi Beta Kappa Society as well as several professional organizations.
After graduation, she taught high school in Oregon before relocating to
California with her husband where she elected to postpone her career to
be with her small children. The Medical Field in Health Information was
her next career choice, requiring additional classes for the necessary
certifications. This work was done while attending to a growing, active
family. She began at North Coast Rehabilitation Center as a Coder and
with hard work and dedication advanced to become the Director of Health
Information until just before Memorial Hospital gained control. Again,
this professional success was accomplished while acting as the center
of her devoted family. Not satisfied to be idle, she continued in the
field as a Coder for several years with Sutter Hospital where she
worked well into the final stages of her illness. She is survived by a
son Timothy Michael Dicus, his wife Karen Miyo Dicus, and two
granddaughters Alex Akemi and Amy Kiyomi Dicus all of Huntington Beach.
Daughters Deborah Sue Dicus, Jennifer Anne Williams, and granddaughter
Hailey Sue Williams reside here in Santa Rosa. She is also survived by
her siblings Duane Scroggins of Washington, Dwight Scroggins and Ardith
Hinman, both of Oregon. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on
Sunday, February 12 at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Ave.,

Message: Petrina R. (Toia) Scroggin Petrina R. (Toia) Scroggin, 67, Gladstone, MO, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Liberty Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 8 a.m. Saturday, January 28 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 2552 Gillham Rd, Kansas City, MO 64108; entombment in Resurrection Mausoleum, Kansas City North. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at Passantino Bros. Funeral Home, 2117 Independence Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64124, where the rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Petrina was born December 18, 1938 in Kansas City, MO. She was a member of the Latin Community of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish. A devout Catholic, she was a lay member of Regnum Christi, the Legion of Mary at St. Andrew Parish, and was chairperson of the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima. Petrina was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Frances (Terre) Toia; and sister, Catherine Ferrante. Survivors include her sons, Steven M. Scroggin, Rev. Christopher M. Scroggin, LC; daughter, Regina M. Scroggin; sisters and brother-in-law, Frances and George Ridenour, Joey Tarantino; and many nieces and nephews. (Arr; Passantino Brothers Funeral Home, 816471-2844). Message: Edith M. Woods WOODS, EDITH M., age 97, of Fultondale, died January 11, 2006. . She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Andrew A. Woods. She was a member of 35th Avenue Baptist many years and a member of Walker Chapel Baptist Church in her last few years. Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 13, at 2 p.m. at Morgans @ Gardendale Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Walkers Chapel Cemetery. Dr. Dan Nichols officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 12 to 2 p.m. Survivors: sons, Andrew Newman Woods, Jr. (Mildred) and Robert E. CARROLLTON - Clara A. Scoggins, 84, of Carrollton died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006, at Reisch Memorial Nursing Home in Carrollton.
She was born Jan. 29, 1921, near Woodville, the daughter of Charles W. and Bertha Goans Fisher. She married Charles Douglas Scoggins in 1937 in Carrollton; he died in 1994. A daughter, Judy Scoggins, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Scoggins was a member of Carrollton Assembly of God Church.
Survivors: seven daughters, Roselee (husband, Richard) Bush and Bernice (husband, Ron) Wallace, both of Camp Point, Lavina Long of Lakeland, Fla., Pixie (husband, Darrell) Clanton of Hillview, Ellen (husband, Bob) Ross of Portland, Maine, and Debra (husband, Dale) Young and Mary (husband, Larry) Stevens, both of Springfield; eight sons, Charles L. and Greg Scoggins, both of Springfield, Gary (wife, Pat) Scoggins of Bunker Hill, Dwayne (wife, Terry) and John (wife, Ruth) Scoggins, both of Jacksonville, Walter (wife, Linda) Scoggins of Glasgow, James (wife, Pat) Scoggins of Alton and Paul Scoggins of Lakeland, Fla.; 36 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, Airsman-Hires Funeral Home, Carrollton. Burial: Richwoods Cemetery, west of Carrollton.
