Alvin Dugger, 82, of North Little Rock, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2006. He was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ. After graduating from Newark High School, he joined the CCC and then served in the Army Air Corp during World War II.

Pepaw was an avid football and basketball fan who could be heard above all the crowds. He loved motivating his children and grandchildren to play their hardest and be their best in any sporting event and in their lives.

He also enjoyed working, gardening and fellowshipping. He was a gifted carpenter and handyman and he built many homes in central Arkansas over the years. He taught his family the importance of commitment, dedication and giving 100% at every task. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union and worked until he physically was not able. Gardening was one of his favorite hobbies and he enjoyed planting, harvesting and eating the fresh fruits and vegetables. Although his bride was the expert cook, over the years he became acclimated to the kitchen and boasted to prepare the best turkey and dressing.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Evelyn Jean Dugger; four sons, John Dugger and wife, Linda, Gary Dugger, Tim Dugger, and Mark Dugger and wife, Terri, all of North Little Rock; seven grandchildren, Kevin Dugger, Kristin Melton and husband, Van, Ron Dugger, Jon Dugger, Ashley Miller, Dylan and Hannah Dugger; three great-grandchildren, Garet Melton, Savana Melton, and Abbi Miller.

Mr. Dugger was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Bina Lee Dugger; two brothers, Edgar and Calvin Dugger; four sisters, Irene Homesly, Allie Scroggins, Fannie King, and Ruby Roberson.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Edgewood Memorial Park.
