LEONARD ERSKINE SCROGGINS, 67, of Memphis, retired employee of Sanford Marine, died of cancer Monday at Memphis Veterans Medical Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Hill Funeral Home East with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery East. He was an Army veteran. Mr. Scroggins leaves a daughter, Pat McGhee of Bartlett; a son, Mark Scroggins of Memphis; two sisters, Inez Vanstory of Henning, Tenn., and Dorothy Vandergrift of Dallas; two brothers, A.G. Scroggins of Burlison, Tenn., and Chester Scroggins of Booneville, Miss., and two grandchildren.

WILLARD HARRISON GREEN

Willard Harrison Green, 75, of Crossville, passed away Aug. 31, 2000, in Cumberland Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Sept. 2 at Fredonia Baptist Church, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens. Bro. Tommy Slaton officiated, with special music by Gordon Tabor and Belinda Robbins.

Mr. Green was born Sept. 19, 1924, in Cumberland County, the son of Noma and Laura Elmore Green.
He was a truck driver, and of the Baptist faith. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Scroggins Green [42240] of Crossville; daughter, Lora Browne of Hendersonville, TN; sons, Frank Green of Sparta, TN, and Wade Green and Lyle Green, both of Crossville; stepson, Meral Matthews of Clarkrange, TN; stepdaughters, Norma Carr, Virginia Sisco and Melissa Martin, all of Crossville, Charlotte Bible of Atlanta, GA, and Margennia Miller of Louisville, KY; sisters, Wilma Jacobs of Las Vegas, NV, and Carlena Wasko of San Diego, CA; 25 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Perry Green.

Pallbearers were Brad Green, Andrew Green, Chris Green, Greg Martin, Clint Martin, Sam Donnelly, Eric Matthews, Brian Matthews and Ronald Sisco.

Bilbrey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
