78, of Carrollton died Saturday at Jerseyville Care Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton. Burial will be in Richwoods Cemetery west of Carrollton.
Surviving are his wife, Clara; eight sons, Charles L., Dwayne and John Scoggins, all of Jacksonville, Gary and James Scoggins, both of Alton, Richard Scoggins of Alsey, Paul and Greg Scoggins, both of Portland, Maine; seven daughters, Lavina Long of Jacksonville, Roselee Bush of Timewell, Bernice Wallace of Alton, Pixie Clanton of Hillview, Ellen Ross of Portland, Maine, Debra Young of Germany and Mary Long of Roodhouse; 34 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ida Clonts of Granite City and Frances Copeland of Cottage Hills.
