AW Scroggins (5 Aug 1929 - 25 Feb 2011) []

AW Scroggins, 85, of 17 Center Port Dr., White, GA, and formerly of Rome, GA passed away Friday, February 25, 2011, in Cartersville.

Mr. Scroggins was born in Powder Springs, GA on August 5, 1925, the son of the late Arthur Wesley Scroggins and Estelle Huggins Scroggins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Scroggins.

Mr. Scroggins owned and operated Palmetto Sash and Door Co. in Orangeburg, SC, and later Southeastern Sash and Door Co. in Cartersville. He also was a founder of the Georgia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company in Macon. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Rome, the First Baptist Church of Orangeburg, where he served as chairman of the Board of Trustees, and the Pine Forest Baptist Church in Macon where he served as chairman of the Deacons. He was presently a member of the Sam Jones United Methodist Church in Cartersville. He was past president of the Orangeburg Chamber of Commerce, and a former member of the Rotary and Elks Club. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Marine Corps.


Survivors include his wife, Frances Puckett Scroggins, to whom he was married July 22, 1945; five sons, Jimmy (Carole Jean) Scroggins, Cartersville, Mike (Blanie) Scroggins, Townsend, TN, David (Angelia) Scroggins, White, John (Rowena) Scroggins, Taylorsville, and Robert Scroggins, Canton; one daughter, Rebecca Scoggins (Tias)Schuster, Virginia Beach, VA; 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 28, 2011, at 2 p.m. at the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Daniel's Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Burch and the Rev. Dee Dee Lawson officiating. Interment was in the Powder Springs Memorial Gardens, Powder Springs.

Pallbearers were Dennis Puckett, Steve Puckett, Jason Scroggins and Charlie Scroggins.

The family will receive friends at Daniel's Funeral Home on Monday, February 28, from 12:30 until 2 p.m. Those wishing may send memorial contributions to the Boys and Girls Club of Rome, P. O. Funeral for Danny "Danny Boy" Scroggins, 43, of Nacogdoches will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at St. Paul CME Church with the Rev. James Flemons officiating. Burial will be in Pinegrove Cemetery. Mr. Scroggins died Dec. 26, 2010, in Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 6, 1967, in Nacogdoches. Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29. Sadler Funeral Service.

Donley, Bonnie Kay (nee Scroggins) 1944-2010; 66, passed away Monday, December 27, 2010 in her home in Johnston City, Illinois, following a brief and courageous battle with cancer. She was born November 22, 1944 in Aurora, Il. Bonnie dedicated her life to her family and loved spending time with her friends on Facebook. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Ted Donley [34468] of Johnston City; two daughters Carrie (Terry) Stoltz of Plainfield, and Kimberly (Craig) Janney of Phoenix, Arizona; two grandchildren, Eddie Oros Jr., and Barrette Janney; two step grandchildren, Karissa and Tyler Stoltz. Bonnie is also survived by two loving brothers Tom [34432] and Rollie Edward Scroggins [34435]; and her loving sister, Pat Scroggins [34436] who cared for her sister up to her final days. She cherished her memories shared with her dear friends; Judy, Ester, Mary, and Sue. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rollie [34381] and Evelyn Scroggins [34464]. JOHNSTON CITY -- Bonnie Kay Donley, 66, died at 5:35 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, at her residence.

There will be no local visitation or services. Union Funeral Home in West Frankfort is in charge of arrangements.

She was born Nov. 22, 1944, in Aurora to Rollie and Evelyn (Westphal) Scroggins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include husband, Theodore Donley of Johnston City; daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Craig Janey of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Carrie and Terry Stoltz of Plainfield; grandchildren, Barrette Janey and Eddie Oros; sister, Pat Scroggins of Hawaii; brothers, Thomas Scroggins of West Frankfort and Ed Scroggins of Aurora.

Donald W. "Bill" Littlejohn, 89, of Colusa, California, passed away Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010 from complications due to a systemic infection. Bill was born in Colusa, CA on June 2, 1921, the son of Elmer and Theresa Littlejohn. He spent his early childhood in the area before moving to San Francisco in his teenage years, graduating from St. Ignatius High School. Bill enlisted in the armed services in June of 1942 and was honorably discharged as a Captain in November of 1945. A fighter pilot, he flew P-38 and P-39 aircraft during WWII, serving in California, England and finally in North Africa in the 92nd Fighter Squadron, 88th Fighter Group. Flying over 80 combat missions, he also survived a ship collision aboard the Queen Mary, a train wreck in England, and being interned after a forced landing in Portugal. After returning from the war, Bill attended the University of San Francisco Law School, graduating Cum Laude and entered the legal profession on June 14, 1949. Returning to Colusa, he entered into the practice of law with Neil Cooney, Esq. After several years in private practice, Bill was elected the District Attorney of Colusa County, and served in that capacity for 6 years. He also served as County Counsel for Colusa County. In March of 1960, Bill and attorney Florence Westfall formed the law partnership of Littlejohn & Westfall in Colusa. Bill and Florence were married in 1961, and operated the law firm continuously until her death in 2004. During this time he became certified as a criminal law specialist. Bill continued to practice law until his death under the name of Littlejohn & Westfall, being active in the profession for over 60 years. Bill also served as a member of the Executive Committee and as a member of the Disciplinary Board of the State Bar of California. His passion for the law was legendary, inspiring many in the legal community, and was pleased that 3 former associates of the firm became Judges in the area. He also contributed to the community, serving as a longstanding Colusa Unified School District Trustee, as well as Foreman of the Colusa County Grand Jury. He is survived by his beloved and loving wife Charlene Scroggins Littlejohn [41291]; his son William Littlejohn and his wife Leslie Littlejohn of Burlingame, CA; his half brother Jim Littlejohn of Denver, CO; his adopted children, Donald Littlejohn and Lisa Marshall; and his step-sons, David C. Scroggins [41292] and Drew A. Scroggins [41289, FB] of Colusa. Age 89, of Colusa, California, passed away Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010 from complications due to a systemic infection.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 7 at 11am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church located at 4th and Oak Streets in Colusa. A reception will follow at the Granzella's banquet hall in Williams, Ca., located at 457 7th Street.

Private interment services will be held on December 8 at East Lawn Memorial Park in Sacramento.
