LIBERTY, MO- Tony Ray Worford, II, 30, of Liberty, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2010. He was born September 4, 1979 in Topeka, Kansas. He is the son of Tony Ray Worford and Corliss Scroggins Worford Lawson. He attended Topeka Public Schools until his family moved to Nashville, Tennessee and later to Fayetteville, Georgia where he played football and graduated from Fayetteville High School. He then attended Gordon College prior to serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was a HVAC Engineer at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri. He is survived by his mother, Corliss Scroggins Lawson [41653], one sister, Courtney Nichelle Worford, two nephews, Jalen Ray and Malachi Kerry Worford, his maternal grandparents, Troy, Sr. and Irma Scroggins, six uncles, Dr. Troy Scroggins, Jr., Michael Worford, Carlton Scroggins, Gregory Worford, Clinton Scroggins (Carol), and Kent Worford (Jean). He also is survived by a host of cousins and other family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Tony Ray Worford, his paternal grandparents, Audrey and Willie Worford, and two daughters, McKenzie and Tamara Worford. Services will be Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Capital City Community Church of God. Patricia Grimes
Patricia Ann Grimes, age 82, of OKC, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Mercy Health Center. She was born on December 29, 1927 in Minneapolis, Kansas. She was the 2nd of three children born to Earl Leonard Scroggins [15987] and Anita (Heberly) Scroggins [15988] of Sayre, OK. "Pat" grew up in Sayre, OK, where she graduated from high school. She later married Billy Joe Grimes [15990] on June 22, 1946 in Las Vegas, NV. Together they raised three sons while first living in Green Bay, Wisconsin, during the years that Billy played for the Packers. In 1952 they returned to Purcell, OK to operate the Grimes family auto dealership. Then in 1957 they moved to OKC, where she lived the remainder of her life. Pat worked for nearly 18 years as an Audio Visual Director for NW Classen High School, then later another 15 years for Samaritan Home Health Care in OKC before retiring in 2004. Pat had many hobbies throughout her life, including being a lifetime fan of the Green Bay Packers, the OSU Cowboys, fishing and playing golf. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, a loving mother and grandmother and a special sister and aunt.She was preceded in death by: Parents, Earl and Anita Scroggins; Husband, Bill Grimes in 2005; two brothers: Earl Jr. [15993] and Jack Scroggins [15994].She is survived by: Three sons: Bill Grimes and wife Judy of OKC; Steve Grimes and wife Linda of Roswell, GA; Mark Grimes and wife Linda of Yukon; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.Funeral services will be 10:30, Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at Northwest Baptist Church in OKC, followed by a Committal Service at 2:00 P.M. at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, OK. Funeral arrangements by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Newcastle, OK.

COVINGTON - James Alton Scroggins, 88, of Covington, formerly of Florence, died Saturday, March 27, at Baptist Towers, Covington.
He was vice president for Sell Inc., and an Army veteran.
His wife, Doris Scroggins [10825] and son, Gary W. Scroggins [10827], died previously.
Survivors include his sons, Mike Scroggins [10828] of Latonia, Rick and Steve Scroggins [10835] of Walton; brother, Leo Scroggins [45311] of Covington; sister, Lunetta Hensley [45312] of Owenton; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, with service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.

Genevieve Shirley Everett, 72, of Wagoner, departed this life on Thursday, March 25, 2010, in Tulsa, OK. The Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the Church of Christ in Wagoner, where she was a member. Minister Terry Smalling will officiate. A Visitation will be held Sunday from 1 p.m. till 3 p.m. at Mallett Funeral Home in Wagoner, who is in charge of arrangements.Genevieve was born January 8, 1938 in Fort Gibson, OK to Tom and A. Vaneri Brown. She grew up there and graduated from Fort Gibson High School. Her family remembers her as a selfless mother and a natural encourager. John Lee Wamble died peacefully Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Ollie Steele Burden Manor, having lived a long and full life. At 98 years of age, he was simply amazed that he lived longer than any male in his family. Born on Aug. 12, 1911, in the community of Coon Tail in Monroe County, Miss., he was reared in Greenwood, Miss. An active Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, he was known for his resourcefulness and ability to make a fire without matches. He was mentored by his father, Albert French Wamble, superintendent of the Greenwood Cotton Seed Oil Mill, and following his formal education in mechanical engineering at Mississippi State University and North Carolina State University, he was superintendent of Cotton Seed Oil Mills in Magnolia, Kosciusko and Greenwood, Miss., and Memphis, Tenn. He worked in the industry designing equipment and developed and manufactured tools for the forestry industry. After retiring from Mississippi State University, he made his home for 25 years at Wakefield in West Feliciana Parish, where he was called "Pappy" by one and all. For the last eight years, he had resided in Baton Rouge. The family gratefully thanks Dr. Pat Gahan, nurse practitioner Lynn Pennington and the staff of Ollie Steele Burden Manor for their devotion and care of Pappy and many saints of Broadmoor and First Presbyterian Churches for their prayerful support. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen McInnis Wamble; parents, Kathryn Morgan Wamble and Albert French Wamble; siblings, Gilbert French Wamble, Albert Cecil Wamble and wife Hallie McElroy Wamble, Mary Emma Wamble French and husband Claude Edwin French, Kathryn Wamble Scroggins [38509] and husband George Clayton Scroggins III [35379], Douthit E. Wamble and Hubert Henry Wamble; and great-grandchild, Hailey Angelle Berry. He is survived by his children, Dr. John Lee Wamble Jr. and wife Cynthia Powers Wamble, of Baytown, Texas, and Johanna "Jolie" Wamble Berry and husband Dr. B. Eugene Berry, of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, J. Mrs. Benjamin was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Deloss Benjamin, Sr. She is survived by son, Kenneth D. Benjamin, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Colorado, CO; daughter, Pamela G. Benjamin of Childersburg, AL; grandson, Jacob Benjamin; granddaughter, Jordan Benjamin; brothers, Mack (Juanita) Scroggins and James (Katherine) Scroggins.

She worked for Pure Oil Company before leaving and becoming a homemaker. She was a long time member of Huffman United Methodist Church and Faith Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Benjamin was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Deloss Benjamin, Sr. She is survived by son, Kenneth D. Benjamin, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Colorado, CO; daughter, Pamela G. Benjamin of Childersburg, AL; grandson, Jacob Benjamin; granddaughter, Jordan Benjamin; brothers, Mack (Juanita) Scroggins and James (Katherine) Scroggins.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 23, 2010 from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel with a graveside to follow at 2 PM at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.

James Wesley Welch, 79, of Muskogee, OK, passed from this life Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in Muskogee surrounded by his family. He was born February 27, 1931 in Broken Arrow, OK to Mitchell and Dora (Watkins) Welch.While living in Haskell, Mr. Welch attended Church by the River. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, and especially playing the harmonica.Mr. Welch is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Pearl, son, William, grandson, William Payton (Welch) Rodgers, brothers, Troy, Robert and Raymond Welch, sisters, Mildred Scroggins [], Dorothy Lenard, and Cora Bell Welch. He was an avid reader, loved to cook for his family and had a passion for gardening. With his quick wit and sense of humor, he could instantly light up a room. John was a veteran of the United States Navy, holding great pride in his country. A wonderful husband, devoted father and grandfather, he leaves behind his beloved wife of 35 years, Angela; four grown children, Tana Scroggins, Jonathan Lines, Tesha Lines and Jeremy Lines and their families, including ten grandchildren. John Lines was called home to Jesus on March 13, 2010 at the age of 53. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Juvenile charged in murder of 19-year-old cousin
DAYTON - A murder charge has been filed against a 16-year-old boy who police said shot his cousin to death in November over a dispute about drugs.
The juvenile’s name is not being released but Montgomery County Prosecutor’s and he has yet to be indicted by a grand jury in the death Trenton Scroggins, prosecutor’s spokesman Greg Flannagan said Tuesday, March 16.
The teen has been in the Juvenile Justice Center since Scroggins was shot in late November and is expected to be transferred to the county jail at some point, Flannagan said. If indicted, prosecutors will seek to try the juvenile as an adult, Flannagan said.
The cousins got into a dispute on Nov. 21 about 8 p.m. over a drug debt and guns were displayed, Sgt. Gary White said at the time. Scroggins, then 19, was shot multiple times and died hours later during surgery at Miami Valley Hospital, authorities said.
The shooting appeared to be gang-related and police had a difficult time getting witnesses to cooperate, authorities said.

Funeral services for Huey Lee Sanders, 84, who was a lifelong resident of Louisville and Barbour County, were held Tuesday, March 9, at 2 p.m. from the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Louisville.
Reverends Curtis Rich, Josh Pierce and John Phil McLaney Jr. officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery with Kent Funeral Home of Clayton directing. Mr. Sanders died Sunday, March 7, after an extended illness.
Born Dec. 7, 1925, Mr. Sanders was the son of the late William Henry "Buddy" and Gussie Mae Conner Sanders.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Sanders Dorman.
Mr. Sanders was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for 45 years.
He loved fishing and hunting when he was able and enjoyed playing the guitar.
He was retired from Louisiana Pacific Corp. after working there for 15 years.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Ruby Scroggins Sanders [], son and daughter-in-law Ronnie H. and Margaret Sanders, daughters and sons-in-law Gwendolyn J. and John P. McLaney, Sylvia J. and Douglas Phillips, Josie, and Connie L. and Tommy Westbrook, all of Louisville; brother and sister-in-law, Milton and Kaye Sanders of Phenix City; sisters and a brother-in-law Audrey Sanders Horne of Geneva, and Arlene and Bill Gates of Louisville; grandchildren John Phil (Emily) McLaney Jr., Shad (Tabitha) McLaney, Kristy Phillips (Sam) Williams, April Westbrook (Jason) Pickett, Amy Westbrook (Lamar) Boswell, Kevin (Michelle) Phillips, Rhonda Sanders (Aaron) Taylor and Dustin Lee Sanders and 16 great-grandchildren.
