Ð Lucille Stewart, 97, of Conyers, formerly of Phenix City, died
Saturday, January 28, 2006. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m.
Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at Central Baptist Church in Phenix City with
the Reverends Dexter James and A.T. Stewart officiating. Interment will
be at Sandfield Cemetery in Union Springs, Alabama. The family will
receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Colonial Funeral Home,
613 14th Street, Phenix City. Born in Pike County, Alabama, Lucille was
the daughter of the late Daniel F. Stewart, Sr. and Stacie Williamson
Stewart. A Phenix City resident for over 80 years, she recently moved
to Conyers, Georgia. She worked for Eagle and Phenix Mills for over 45
years, and was a member of Central Baptist Church since 1948. Survivors
include two brothers, Milton Stewart and his wife Jan of Columbus, and
Don Stewart and his wife Beverly of Conyers; several nieces and
nephews: Mike Stewart and his wife Becky, Marie Addis, Greg Stewart,
Kelly Stewart, Pat Stewart and his wife Catherine, and Stacey Stewart;
and several great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death
by 2 brothers, R.T. Stewart and Daniel Stewart, Jr., and 2 sisters,
Laurie Stewart and Thelma Scroggins. Memorial contributions in lieu of

DonnaLee Jessie (Hampton) Wyatt DonnaLee was born in Portland OR to
Donald Rocca Hampton Jessie Elizabeth (Taylor) Hampton on
November 17, 1932 and passed away peacefully at her home in Lakewood WA
on December 30th, 2005. DonnaLee is survived by her mother Jessie (94),
3 sisters: Joann Morse, Kathryn Barger Lynda May Templeton; 2
brothers: Richard Hampton Bob Ward; 3 children: Conrad Scroggins,
Brenda Webster Brian Wyatt; 9 grandchildren 2
great-grandchildren and numerous uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and
all of her many friends. Her life and faith will be celebrated at a

and other family members. Jesse was a loving and kindhearted man who
enjoyed fishing, camping, dancing and spending time with his family and

one. He always thought of his family that he cared for very much. He
will be remembered as a good father that was always there. He was loved

James M. "Mike" McCoy

James M. "Mike" McCoy, 49, of Kansas City, MO was killed in Spokane, MO
on Jan. 25, 2006. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Mike
was born June 4, 1956 in Kansas City, MO. He was a lifelong resident of
the area. Mike served in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed
spending time with his grandchildren and photography. He was preceded
in death by his grandparents and his father-in-law Lloyd Scroggins.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Kathy McCoy of the home; a
daughter, Heather Smith and husband David of Kansas City, MO; a son,
Jonathon McCoy and wife Devi of Grandview, MO; four grandchildren that
were the light of his life, Kristina, James, Christian and Erica; his
father, James E. McCoy and wife Ruby; his mother, Betty Quick; two
sisters, Renee Dority and husband Howard, and Deborah Mitchell and
husband Bob; motherin-law, Ellen Johnson and husband Derrell; aunts,
uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Mike was a
wonderful father and grandfather. You will be sadly missed. We love you

Catherine (Toia) Ferrante, 75, Kansas City, MO, passed away Tuesday,

Paul Catholic Church, 3104 Flora Ave., Kansas City, MO 64109; burial in
Mt. Olivet Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Catherine was born
April 5, 1930 in Kansas City, MO. She was preceded in death by her
parents, Joseph and Frances (Terre) Toia; and her niece, Phyllis
McManamin. Survivors include her sisters and brother-in-law, Frances
and George Ridenour, Joey Tarantino, Petrina Scroggin; and many nieces
and nephews. Catherine was a special person who loved and cared for
others. Although she had no children of her own, she was like a second

Rothwell, 90, of Mount Pleasant, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2006, at Bates--Cooper--Sloan Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Pleasant, with Minister Mike Lindstrom officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park of Mount Pleasant. Mr. Rothwell passed away January 23, 2006, in Mount Pleasant. He was born September 18, 1915, in Hope, Ark., to William and Annie Hamilton Rothwell. He served in the United States Army and was a mechanical foreman. He worked for Exxon Company. Mr. Rothwell was a Methodist, past president of the Masonic Lodge in Hawkins, and member of the Avion Club. He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Hamilton Rothwell; father, William Rothwell; grandson, Sean Scroggins; granddaughter, Paula Franks; great-granddaughter, Cassie McCuller; five sisters; and two brothers. Survivors include his wife, Pearl Vera Carpenter Rothwell of Mount Pleasant; son and friend, Ruel Richard Rothwell Jr. and Veronica Smithers of Houston; daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Tommy Franks of Sugarhill, Jerry Ann and James Via of Talco and Charlotte Scroggins of Sugarland; grandchildren, Judy McCuller, Ricky Franks, Guy Franks, Jimmy Via, Jackie Moore, Nick Scroggins, Mark Rothwell, and Scott Rothwell; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great- great-grandchildren. DICUS, Vada Ailene Died quietly at her home early Saturday morning
January 21, 2006 after a valiant battle with cancer. She was surrounded
by her loving family during her long and difficult illness. She and her
husband Douglas were together for 42 years, residing the last 30 in
Santa Rosa. Born Vada Ailene Scroggins in Eugene, Oregon, 65 years ago
to parents Norman and Nola Scroggins. She graduated from Springfield
High School with honors, receiving several academic scholarships. She
continued on to the University of Oregon at Eugene, earning a Bachelor
of Arts Degree in Foreign Languages and a Masters of Arts in Education.
She was a member of the Pi Delta Phi (National French Honorary) and the
Phi Beta Kappa Society as well as several professional organizations.
After graduation, she taught high school in Oregon before relocating to
California with her husband where she elected to postpone her career to
be with her small children. The Medical Field in Health Information was
her next career choice, requiring additional classes for the necessary
certifications. This work was done while attending to a growing, active
family. She began at North Coast Rehabilitation Center as a Coder and
with hard work and dedication advanced to become the Director of Health
Information until just before Memorial Hospital gained control. Again,
this professional success was accomplished while acting as the center
of her devoted family. Not satisfied to be idle, she continued in the
field as a Coder for several years with Sutter Hospital where she
worked well into the final stages of her illness. She is survived by a
son Timothy Michael Dicus, his wife Karen Miyo Dicus, and two
granddaughters Alex Akemi and Amy Kiyomi Dicus all of Huntington Beach.
Daughters Deborah Sue Dicus, Jennifer Anne Williams, and granddaughter
Hailey Sue Williams reside here in Santa Rosa. She is also survived by
her siblings Duane Scroggins of Washington, Dwight Scroggins and Ardith
Hinman
, both of Oregon. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on
Sunday, February 12 at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Ave.,
Santa Rosa. For those who cannot attend the service or for anyone who
wishes, a written account of the experience or remembrance of Vada is

Elvin E. Scroggins, 74, of Oklahoma City, died Saturday, January 14,
2006. Elvin was born Nov. 8, 1931 in Foyil, OK one of ten children of
Fred and Lela Scroggins. He retired from the United States Air Force
and loved softball, hunting deer and elk and he enjoyed deep sea
fishing, but most of all he loved the Lord and was a member of the
First Baptist Church of Del City. Elvin is survived by four children,
Jim Philipini of Nevada, Milinda Scroggins of Norman, Leslie Elvin
Scroggins of Norman and Tina Figueroa of Purcell; 12 grandchildren,
Jeremiah, Billie Jo, Robert, Cruz, Pilo, Jonathan, Matthew, Jeremiah,
Maryann, Leona, Danielle and Jim; a sister, Kathleen; a brother, Larry;
a loving friend and companion, Penny Nagel Scroggins. Funeral services
will be conducted by Ford Funeral Service at 10am Wednesday at the
First Baptist Church of Del City with Pastor Buddy Townsend
officiating. Burial will be at 1pm Thursday at the Lone Chapel Cemetery
near Adair, OK with full military honors.

CARROLLTON - Clara A. Scoggins, 84, of Carrollton died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006, at Reisch Memorial Nursing Home in Carrollton.

She was born Jan. 29, 1921, near Woodville, the daughter of Charles W. and Bertha Goans Fisher. She married Charles Douglas Scoggins in 1937 in Carrollton; he died in 1994. A daughter, Judy Scoggins, also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Scoggins was a member of Carrollton Assembly of God Church.

Survivors: seven daughters, Roselee (husband, Richard) Bush and Bernice (husband, Ron) Wallace, both of Camp Point, Lavina Long of Lakeland, Fla., Pixie (husband, Darrell) Clanton of Hillview, Ellen (husband, Bob) Ross of Portland, Maine, and Debra (husband, Dale) Young and Mary (husband, Larry) Stevens, both of Springfield; eight sons, Charles L. and Greg Scoggins, both of Springfield, Gary (wife, Pat) Scoggins of Bunker Hill, Dwayne (wife, Terry) and John (wife, Ruth) Scoggins, both of Jacksonville, Walter (wife, Linda) Scoggins of Glasgow, James (wife, Pat) Scoggins of Alton and Paul Scoggins of Lakeland, Fla.; 36 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Wood were held on Dec. 27 at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Patterson, followed by burial at Patterson District Cemetery. Remembrances may be sent to Christian Berets, 1905 Coffee Road, Suite 3, Modesto, CA 95355. Mr. Wood was a lubricating engineer for the Operating Engineers Local No. 3 for 38 years.

He died in 1987. She then married Harry Saums in 1990 at Wichita. He died in 1996. Darlene was also preceded in death by a brother, Leon Garner and sister, Maxine Garner.
