Bill G. Ford, 83, of Denton, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2008 at Regency Hospital North Dallas in Carrollton. He was born June 12, 1924 in Ringgold TX to F.O. and Cama Scroggins Ford. He married Wanda Stewart on November 11, 1944 in Kilgore. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, 1st Division of the South Pacific during WWII. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and had owned Ace Auto Parts in Denton. After retirement, Mr. Ford devoted many years at SPAN.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at 2 p.m. in Cole Chapel of the First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Stewart of Denton; daughter, Jill Heatherly of New Braunfels; sons, Craig Ford of Spring and Dean Ford of Scottsdale AZ; grandchildren, Keri and Chance Ford of Spring, Killian Ford of Scottsdale AZ, Katherine Ford of Ann Arbor MI, Katherine Heatherly of San Antonio and Grant Heatherly of New Braunfels; great-granddaughter, Erin Ford of Scottsdale; sister, Inawade Hulen of Hurst. He was also well loved by many in-laws.

Eleanore M. Anthony, 78, former Parkville, MO resident died Sunday, December 31, 2006 at Frances Georgeson Hospice House in Naples, FL of Parkinson's Disease. Anthony was the proprietor of Eleanore Skin Care and Cosmetics with hundreds of clients in the Kansas City area. After retiring in 1991, she moved to Marco Island, FL and married W. Jack Anthony, a retiree from Norfolk Southern Railroad and Gallatin, MO native. They moved to Naples in 1997. She was born Eleanore M. Schroeder in Manhattan, KS, and was the second of five children. Her siblings include brothers Martin, ID (deceased); Jack, CA; Bill, KS; and sister Bernadine Scroggins, MN. In 1949, she married Robert Dean Morrison and had four children-daughters Ramona Feisley, WA; Gera Valenzuela, MO; Mary Jo Butler, MO; and son Gary Morrison. She has four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Eleanore was a well-liked, independent businesswoman. Her loves included family, friends, music, humor, dance, travel, her !
profession, and an unmistakable zest for life. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Dean Morrison (Shad) in 1984. The family requests that wishing to memorialize Anthony, make a donation in her name to the Frances Georgeson Hospice House, 1095B Whipporwill Lane, Naples, FL, 34105.

Ikey L. Scroggins, age 64, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at the King�s Daughters� Hospital in Madison. He was born on July 30, 1943 in Madison, the son of Harold and Mary Gladys Fredenburgh Scroggins.

Mr. Scroggins worked in construction most of his life, having been employed by the former J.D. Shake Construction Company until 1982. He then formed his own construction company and retired from that in 1994. For several years after that, he worked as a security guard for Ameriform Company in Carrollton, Kentucky.

Survivors include his companion, Mary Johnson of Madison; two daughters: Lucretia �Cricket� Hager of Nicholasville, Kentucky, and Joy Zeilger and her husband, Randy of Columbus, Indiana; four sons: Jason Scroggins of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Shawn Handlon and his wife, Lisa of Taylor Mill, Kentucky, Jeffrey Handlon and his wife, Maggie of Madison, and Lewis Handlon and his wife, Tracy of Hanover; three brothers: Jerry Scroggins of Lacey Spring, Alabama, Bob Scroggins and Charlie Scroggins, both of Madison; one sister, Barb Boggs of Madison; thirteen grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Troy Scroggins in 1992; five brothers: Raymond Scroggins, Jim Scroggins, Donnie Fredenburgh, George Scroggins and Roger Scroggins; and one son-in-law, Audie �Hoss� Hager in 2003.

At his request, no services will be held for Mr. Scroggins.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Madison Riverfront Project. Envelopes are available at the Lytle Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Crooks, 59, of Trout, passed from this life on Thursday, March 13, 2008, at LaSalle General Hospital. She was a retired LaSalle Parish school teacher.

She is survived by her husband, Clyde Crooks of Trout; one son, John Clyde Crooks of Littleton, Colorado; one daughter, Sarah Clancy of Pineville; one sister, Louise Scroggins of Jena; one granddaughter, Ella Clancy.

Mrs. Crooks was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Marie Terral and one sister Barbara Widdon.

Pallbearers were Stan Scroggins, Stacy Scroggins, Charles Widdon, Allen Jones, Jr., Guy Neil Campbell, and Steve Campbell.

Honorary Pallbearers were Wesley Crooks, Danny Kirbie, Donald Stuckey and Craig Myers.

Message: Bennie Randell Scroggins BLANCHARD, LA - Services for Bennie Randall Scroggins, 68, of Blanchard, Louisiana, will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Hill Crest Funeral Home in Haughton. Officiating will be the Reverend Milton Vining Jr. Interment at Hill Crest Memorial Park Cemetery will follow the service. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, March 14, 2008, from 5 pm until 8 pm at Hill Crest Funeral Home. Mr. Scroggins was born on October 3, 1939, in Columbus, Georgia, and lived in Blanchard, Louisiana, for 33 years. On Monday, March 10, 2008, after a lengthy illness and with his family by his side, Ben was called home to be with the Lord. Mr. Scroggins proudly served in the United States Navy from 1956 -1960, serving on both the USS Brown and the USS Edwards. Following his honorable discharge, he became a glazier by trade, and helped build numerous large buildings around Shreveport such as Regions Bank downtown. He was also involved in the glass installation at the Louisiana Downs Racetrack. He was an avid fisherman, and loved to joke about being able to take his fishing boat to heaven with him. Mr. Scroggins was preceded in death by his father, Bennie Frank Scroggins. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 48 years, Fern Owens Scroggins; his mother, Betty Lois Scroggins; three brothers, Don Scroggins, Roger Scroggins, and Errol (Rusty) Scroggins; three sisters, Joyce Van Brocklyn, Patsy Hutches, and Gale Dzvonick; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and other relatives. Pall bearers will be his brothers, Don, Roger and Rusty Scroggins, brothers-in-law Charles Poindexter and Mike Jones, and long-time friend Ray Akes. The family would like to extend a very special thanks to Drs. Jimmy Smith and Michael Aura for their compassionate care of Mr. Scroggins during his illness. Message: William Roscoe "Bill" Bill Roscoe, 74 of Big Rock, formerly of Aurora, passed away at his home during his sleep after a brief but courageous "war" with lung cancer. It was a war because he already had battled colon cancer and won. Bill was a proud member of Plumbers and Pipefitters, UA local union 501, of which he was a current officer of the retiree club. He also held a past office of Executive Board Member. He spent many years of hard work with Artlip and Sons and at Mooseheart's "The Child City" Bill attended West Aurora H.S. and served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a life time member of the Phoenix Club and the Amvets. Bill also served as one of the inaugural trustee's for the village of Big Rock. Bill was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed his many trips to Canada with his family and friends. He spent season after season coaching the Chicago Bears from his "recliner" and still enjoyed a cold Pabst Blue Ribbon! Bill leaves behind his wife Joni (Szilage/Lurz) and his children, Scott (Lisa) Roscoe of Aurora, Jeff (Teresa) Roscoe of Mesa AZ, and Pam Miller of Post Falls, ID. Bill was grandfather to Michelle (Dan) Spatafora, Branden and Chad Roscoe, Jeremiah Roscoe, Tony and Patrick Roscoe, Tommy Lieving ,Jeffery Stout and Spencer Lalley and his life-long buddy, Ken Lancaster (Jan)and his latest best friend "Oky". He also leaves behind, his brother and sisters, Betty (Orin) Anderson of Longview, WA. Joe Ben Scroggins Sr., died peacefully June 5, 2005.

Born in Mobile, Ala., he lived in Mississippi and Louisiana for most of his life. Joe served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. His career in the U.S. Navy began in 1944 and he retired in 1966.

Joe was preceded in death by the love of his life, and his son, Joe Ben Scroggins Jr. He is survived by his sons, Johnny Ray, Jerry Lee, and Jamey Jay (Donna) Scroggins; daughters, Jackie Gay (Jerry) Nemish and Joyce Ann (John) Hogue; grandchildren, Johnny Jr., Brian, Stacie, Chrissy, Jackie, Betty, Jacob, Jerry, Sara, Stephanie, Ashley, James, Dora, and Matt; numerous great-grandchildren; and brother, Charles Scroggins of England.

Mrs. Scroggins was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was a retired secretary and an artist.

She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Hickman of Missouri.

She is survived by her husband, Donald G. Scroggins, Sr. of Yazoo City, MS, 2 sons, Donald G. Scroggins, Jr. of Yazoo City, MS and Ken W. Knight of Atlanta, GA; her mother and stepfather, Olene and Thomas McManus of Long Beach, MS.

Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. on April 24, 2005 at Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City, MS. A funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City.

Cora Lathon, 101, also known as Nanny, died May 10, 2004. She was born on October, 18, 1902 to the late Robert and Eugenia Hicks in Saucier. There were six children born to this union.

Cora attended Marion County School. She accepted Christ at a very young age. Soon after moving to Biloxi with her parents she joined Bethel Baptist Church under the guidance of Rev. Louis Johnson. She later met and married Brother James Lathon.

She was a member of the Senior Missionary Society, sang in the choir, worked on the kitchen committee, a member of the Mother's Board, and a member of the Court of Calanthe #33. She was a guardian angel to at least six generations of children as well as adults.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lathon; a stepdaughter, Evelyn Smith; five siblings, Roscoe, Chester and John Hicks, Ruby Ray and Sarah Hicks; a nephew, Roland Hicks; a niece, Elaine Guichard; and two stepgrandchildren, Clothilde Hughes and Charles Smith.

She leaves to mourn her passing, one adopted daughter, Marlyene Scroggins; a loving and devoted great-niece, LaMonica (James) Greenlee; one granddaughter, Jayme Scroggins; one great-great-nephew, James Lathon Greenlee; 3 stepgrandchildren; 14 stepgreat-grandchildren; 30 stepgreat-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 18, 2004 with visitation from 9-11 a.m. at the New Bethel Baptist Church in Biloxi.

Burial will be in Biloxi Cemetery.

Leslie Lee Owens, 27, husband of Mary Beth Ewing Owens, of 101 Brevard Drive, Easley, S.C., passed away August 6, 2006.

Born in Gulfport, MS, he was a son of Faye Leugene Brooks Owens and the late Samuel Pete Herbert Owens Jr.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are children, Anthony Lee Owens, Alex Michael Owens, Aidan Eugene Owens all of the home; sister, Brenda Owens Landrum of Bay Minette, AL; brother, Jamie Michael Brooks of Gulfport, MS.

Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, August 10, 2006, at Dacusville Church of God, Dacusville, S.C.

Message: Jeannette Mary Owens Warden Jeannette Mary Owens Warden, age 76, of Gulfport, died Sunday, March 9, 2008 in Gulfport. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Edwin Warden; a step-son, Orville E. Warden; two brothers, Samuel H. Owens, Latheniel H. Owens; her father, Samuel Herbert Owens, Sr. and her mother, Leslie Lee Scroggins Owens. She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Beanco of Pass Christian, Charlotte Diane Taylor of Fulton, NY, and Rhonda Hurst of Pass Christian; two sons, Maurice G. Clements, Jr. of Pass Christian, and Michael Vernon Clements of Lucedale; two step-daughters, Darlene Thurman of Gulfport and Dixie Huch of Long Beach; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 12 noon at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport where friends may visit from 10:30 a.m. until the service.
