Thelma Jean (Scroggins) Pittman []

THELMA JEAN PITTMAN
1941-2010

Thelma Jean Pittman, 68 of McLellan, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2010. Mrs. Pittman was born in Brewton Alabama and had resided in the McLellan area for most of her life.

Mrs. Pittman is preceded in death by her father and mother, James Scroggins and Ruby Thomas Scroggins; a brother Johnnie Scroggins and a great grandson Logan Acree.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Earl L. Pittman, Sr.; five children, Lewis (Damita) Pittman of Milton, Lajean Betterton of McLellan, Wanda (Gary) Murphy of Pensacola, Daniel Pittman of McLellan and Melody (Jimmy) Pittman of McLellan; four sisters and brothers, Elizabeth (Franklin) Pitman, Elaine McCall (Eddie-In Memory), Nelly Presley, and Edward (Linda) Scroggins; nineteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Pittman will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the McLellan Assembly of God Church with Rev. Jimmy Pittman officiating. Burial will follow in the McLellan Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 noon on Saturday at the Church, prior to service.

Active pallbearers will be Tatum McCall, Derreck McCall, Derryl Pittman, Jimmy Holley, Cord Pittman, Dwayne Pittman, and Willie Murphy. Honorary pallbearers are Phill Rollo, Pete Holcomb, Dale Cabaniss, Buddy Odom, Tommy Odom, William Pittman, and Eddie Melton.
