100, former Wallington resident, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 14, 2009, at the Palm Terrace of Lakeland, in Lakeland, Florida, where Mrs. Milligan has resided since 2001.

For forty-seven years of marriage Della Milligan was the beloved wife of Jack (Harry) Milligan who preceded her in death in 1972. Mr. and Mrs. Milligan settled in Wallington after moving from Canonsburg, Pennsylvania in the mid-1930s and were for many years the owners of "Milligan's Candy Store" on Wallington Avenue. Della Milligan also worked twenty years at the East Rutherford Syringe Co. In 1989 Mrs. Milligan moved to Florida to be near her youngest grandchild, Matthew Harvey Pope, now 21.

In January 3, 2009, Mrs. Milligan celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends at Palm Terrace. This Mother's Day was also a very special day when Mrs. Milligan received a surprise visit from her eldest daughter and granddaughter who drove into Lakeland for the day from their homes in Ponte Vedra Beach, in northeast Florida. Mrs. Milligan and daughter Mrs. Gaylene (the late Harvey) Pope, who has a home nearby in Lakeland, and daughter and former Wallington resident, Betty Pavlic (Mrs. Donald) Syrek, and granddaughter, Mrs. Madeline (Pavlic) Scrogin [38684?], and the daughter of Mrs. Syrek, were reunited with all three generations together for the first time since Thanksgiving 1995. Grandson-in-law, Bruce Scrogin, videotaped a large part of the reunion of the four "Milligan" women.

In addition to the above family members, Mrs. Milligan is survived by first grandson, Chester (Chet) Pavlic and his wife, Jo Anne Adams Pavlic, of Pickerington, Ohio; sister-in-law Mrs. Dolly (Jules) Trestka of Wallington; niece Patricia (Mrs. Michael) MacCormack of Lakeland and formerly of Wallington. Della Gorcica Milligan was the last remaining of ten Gorcica siblings and as such is survived by many generations of nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Wednesday, 10 AM, at the Kamienski Funeral Home, 106 Locust Avenue, Wallington. Internment George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visiting Wednesday morning only, 8-10 AM.
