Wanda S. Cumbra

CUMBRA, Wanda S.
Left this earthly plane on April 11, 2009. Born Wanda Scroggins in Talihina, Okla., on Nov. 5, 1931 and raised in Mokelumme Hill, Calif., by her ''parents'' Tyler and Ida Yale. Her parents, sister Melba Sterling and her husband Jack A. Cumbra predeceased her. Wanda worked for 45 years at Pac Bell as an operator with the last 22 years being at the State Capitol. She is survived by her adoring daughter Debra Cumbra Freeman, her constant companion Lucy, her toy poodle, and - as it should be - by many friends, neighbors of multiple years, and other family. Interment was conducted on April 24 at Mokelumme Hill Protestant Cemetery in Mokelumme Hill, Calif., where she was laid to rest next to her mother Ida. A remembrance of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22, at First United Methodist Church, 21st & J in Sacramento.
