WILLIE E. JONES, (retired 1st Sergeant), United States Army, 75, of Horn Lake, MS, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Horn Lake, and a veteran of WWII, Occupational Force, Korean Conflict and Vietnam. Mr. Jones was awarded the Bronze Metal, Air Metal and the Purple Heart. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Evelyn Jones; daughters, Debra Long, Diane Bledsoe; sons, Gwinn Jones, Billy Jones, Ricky Jones and Michael Jones. Mr. Jones is also survived by his sisters, Lanelle Silvio, Geneva Blanton, Barbara Scroggins; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 4-6 P.M., Sunday, August 24, 2008 at Forest Hill Funeral Home East. Services will be 10 A.M., Monday at the funeral home with interment in Forest Hill East Cemetery.
