CACHE -- Funeral for Mayme Adelia Marlow Scroggins, 81, Cache, will be at 2 p.m. today at Cache First Baptist Church with Richard McPheeters and Truman Ferguson officiating.
Mrs. Scroggins died Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at her home.
Burial will be at Cache Cemetery under direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service.
She was born Feb. 15, 1924, in Chattanooga to Ura and Jessie Tidwell. She attended grade school at Hiawatha School in Chattanooga and graduated from Cache High School in 1942. After graduating, she worked at Douglas Aircraft in Oklahoma City and was crowned Miss Oklahoma City. She was a member of the Cache School Alumni and served as secretary/treasurer in 1962 and as president in 1965. She married Elmer Leroy Marlow Dec. 21, 1941. During their marriage they lived in Georgia, where she worked for Lance Peanut Factory. They later moved to California, and returned to Cache in 1957, where she was part owner and operator of Marlow's Service Center in Cache. He died Jan. 9, 1975. She married Andrew Scroggins [52797] in Lawton on Easter Sunday, April 6, 1980. Since then they have overseen rental properties.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law: Eddie and Oleta Marlow and Martin and Reesie Marlow, all of Cache; and Stephen and Marietta Marlow; two stepsons: Kurt Scroggins [52799] and Michael Scroggins [52800, fb] and wife, Della [52801, fb], all of Lawton; a brother, William C. Tidwell, Lawton; eight grandchildren and their spouses: Gina [, fb] and Craig Holden, Rachel and David Nix, Kacie Scroggins [52802, fb], Jared Scroggins [52803, fb], Holly and Nick Hoad and Chad and Tina Smith, all of Lawton ; Mitch Marlow, Cache; and Christy Tempson, Oklahoma City; seven great-grandchildren: Lane Ballard, Dillon Ballard, Erin Hoad, Gracie Hoad, Carly Bell and Katie Smith, all of Lawton; and Terry Bell, Cache; several nieces, nephews and other relatives; and special friends: Paula Cox, Meers; and Nell Clark, Cache.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jess M. Tidwell; and two sisters: Audine Spiegel and French Dye.
