Willie H. Scroggins January 25, 1918- May 5, 2005 PHENIX CITY, AL Mrs. Willie H. Scroggins, 87, of Phenix City, died Thursday, May 5 at Canterbury Health Care in Phenix City. Graveside services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with burial in Lakeview Memory Gardens, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Phenix City. The Rev. Wayne Williams will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Mrs. Scroggins was born on Jan. 25, 1918 in Lafayette, Ala., daughter of the late Eddie Laura Dennis Hill and George Franklin Hill. She had been a resident of Phenix City most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Scroggins, and a sister, Katherine H. Cinque. Survivors include a son, Melvin Scroggins [54959] and wife Sherry [54960, fb] of Phenix City; two grandchildren, Carey Scroggins [54961, fb] and wife Pam [54962, fb] of Phenix City and Susan Barham [54963, fb] and husband Dan [54964, fb] of Lexington, Kentucky; a half sister, Delores Young of Jacksonville, Fla.; four great grandchildren, Dale, Alex and Leslie Luloff and Olivia Barron; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lakewood Baptist Church Family Activity Center or to the Church Bus Fund.
