He is also survived by three grand-children and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Family will receive friends on Monday, November 13 from 9 a.m. until time of services, 12 Noon at Contee A.M.E Zion Church, 903 Division Ave., N.E. Ruth Y. Bohannan, 93, of San Diego died Tuesday. She was born in California and was a homemaker. She was a member of El Cajon Boulevard Church of Christ.
Survivors include her daughters, Maralyn Spain of Jacinto and Bonnie Figgins of Hemet; son, Michael Bohannan of Texas; sister, Mildred Scroggins of Arizona; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Salli Lynn Chapel, Greenwood Mortuary, 4300 Imperial Ave., San Diego.
Interment: before services, Greenwood Memorial Park.

HOUSTON, TX - Funeral services for Ruby J. Lake, 96, Will be held at 11:00 am, at Shiloh Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Empris Mims. Burial will be at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7:00 pm at Shiloh Baptist Church, 421 Webster Street.
She died at 12:20 pm, November 02, 2006, at her daughter's home in Houston, Texas after a brief illness. She was born February 11, 1910, Nacogdoches, TX. Mrs. Lake was a native of Shreveport, La., but later moved to Houston with her daughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the late John Lake; parents, the late Chester and Roy Menefee.
She is survived by daughter, Annie Lake Littleton, (Houston, TX); sister, Clodia Dansby, Shreveport, LA; brother, Elmo Menefee, Sacramento, CA; granddaughter, Renita Scroggins, (Warren), Houston, TX; grandson, Jonathan Brooks, (Cassandra), Houston, TX; great-grands, Kaitlyn and Kamryn Scroggins, Anitra Brooks. She assisted her husband in his responsibilities as a Baptist minister for the 69 years that they were married. She will be remembered as a loving wife, caring mother and grandmother, and an asset to her church and community. She will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Scroggins, and one grandson, Joel Keith Weldon. She is survived by daughters, Myra Chloe Courtney (Rev. A. L. Courtney, Jr.) of Pell City, Alabama and Bernella Sue Weldon (Joe Weldon) of Tallassee, Alabama; five grandchildren, Amy Courtney Marott (Geoffrey) of McDonough, Georgia; Michael Courtney (Traci) of Owasso, Oklahoma; Mark Weldon of Tallassee, Alabama; Stephen Weldon (Nancy) and Julia Weldon Benson (Clay) of Montgomery, Alabama; twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bernece Welsh Cotney of Daviston, Alabama; Ruby Welsh Wilkins of Wadley; one sister-in-law, Jimmie Welsh, of Alexander City, Alabama and a number of nieces and nephews. Don Johnson will officiate with Jeffcoat-Linville Funeral Home directing the service. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tallassee, Alabama.
