HOUSTON, TX - Funeral services for Ruby J. Lake, 96, Will be held at 11:00 am, at Shiloh Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Empris Mims. Burial will be at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7:00 pm at Shiloh Baptist Church, 421 Webster Street.
She died at 12:20 pm, November 02, 2006, at her daughter's home in Houston, Texas after a brief illness. She was born February 11, 1910, Nacogdoches, TX. Mrs. Lake was a native of Shreveport, La., but later moved to Houston with her daughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the late John Lake; parents, the late Chester and Roy Menefee.
She is survived by daughter, Annie Lake Littleton, (Houston, TX); sister, Clodia Dansby, Shreveport, LA; brother, Elmo Menefee, Sacramento, CA; granddaughter, Renita Scroggins, (Warren), Houston, TX; grandson, Jonathan Brooks, (Cassandra), Houston, TX; great-grands, Kaitlyn and Kamryn Scroggins, Anitra Brooks, Houston, TX; stepson, Leonard Lake, (Beatrice), Shreveport, LA; daughter in law, Clotiel Lake; special goddaughter, Margie Burley, Houston, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
