Myrtis Virginia Johnson Farmer
Memorial services for Mrs. Myrtis Virginia Johnson Farmer, 90, of Bastrop will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2009 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
Myrtis Virginia Johnson Farmer was born November 23, 1918 in Winnsboro, La. to the late Ervin Willis Weems, Sr. and Nettie Scroggins Weems. She died Monday, June 29, 2009 at her home in Bastrop.
Mrs. Farmer was a member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Hermitage, Ark. and a retired nurses aide at Summerlin Lane Nursing Home where she served for over sixteen years. She will be fondly remembered by her family for her loving and caring spirit.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy T. Johnson; her parents; a son, Billy Joe Johnson; a daughter, Ann Andrews; and grandson, Randy Johnson.
Mrs. Farmer is survived by her daughter Helen McVay and her husband, Jim; three sons, Ervin Johnson and his wife Frances, Joey Johnson and his wife Brenda, and Tommy Johnson; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
