Notice for Mary S. Johnson

Message: Mary S. Johnson Mrs. Mary Sue Johnson, 97, of Florence, passed away March 8, 2008, at Southridge Place. The graveside service will be Tuesday, March 11, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Dr. Carl Gebhardt and the Rev. Gary Formby will be officiating. There will be a family memorial service in June. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Johnson Sr. She was a graduate of the University of Alabama and a big fan of the Alabama teams. She was a member of First Christian Church. She was an avid rose gardener who shared her flowers with everyone. She was also a great cook. Mrs. Johnson was a very gracious lady and full of hospitality. She celebrated every holiday with her family, and she will be greatly missed. She is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Scroggins (Derrell), Florence; a son, Dr. Lloyd Johnson Jr. (Joan), Florence; grandchildren, Mary Sue Ridgway (Alan), Dr. Lloyd Johnson III (Holly), Kristi Johnson Smith (Tim), Dr. Todd Johnson (Betsy), Ashley Johnson; great-grandchildren, James Alan Ridgway, Derrell Sidney Ridgway, Melissa Suzanne Ridgway, Alex and Lily Johnson, Ella and Sienna Smith and Gabrielle Johnson. Elkins Funeral Home, Florence, is assisting the family. Published in the Florence Times Daily on 3/11/2008.
