Message: [sister of Betty Scroggins] Brenda Cheryle Blackerby BLACKERBY, BRENDA CHERYLE, age 63 of Jasper, AL, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2008. She was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church in Jasper. She was preceded in death by her parents, Buford and Louise Watson; step father, Frank Ward; brother, Jack Watson; sister, Benita Spradlin; and son-in-law, Chuck Sparks. She is survived by her husband, Rodney Blackerby of Jasper; her children, Sherri Sparks of Jasper, Lisa Wells and husband, Judge Jim Wells of Jasper, David Blackerby and wife Leigh Ann of Jasper, and Nita Sherer and husband Matt of Pascagoula, MS; her sisters, Betty Scroggins of Bessemer, Debra Grammar and husband, Terry of Athens; grandchildren, Brett and Beth Sparks, Jesse, Samuel and Anna Wells, Corey Blackerby, and Savannah and Mattison Sherer; and host of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Chapel with burial in Oakhill Cemetery. Bill Martin and Fritz Harter officiating.
