Marchie was born in Evansville on March 23, 1953, to James and Betty Merritt. She was preceded in death by her parents, James in 2000 and Betty in 2007. Marchie is survived by her husband, Bill; daughter, Monica Baker; three grandchildren, James Jeffrey, Jessica Anne and Austin Allen; mother-in-law, Helen McCane; three siblings, Eddie Merritt and wife, Teresa, Cheryl Paul and husband, John, and Tony Merritt and wife, Denise; sister-in-law, Lou Reed; and lots of nieces and nephews. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, 2007, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Reverend Terry Gamblin, burial in Tupman Cemetery. Friends may visit 2 to 8 p.m. today at Alexander West Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made at any Old National Bank in honor of Marchie.
