Dee Carroll Turner Jr., 75, of Amarillo died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Dumas with military rites by American Legion Post No. 224. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in Grace Community Church in Amarillo with Bill Gehm, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Dee Carroll Turner Jr., surviving twin, was born March 25, 1931, to Dee Carroll Sr. and Bernice R. Turner, and is survived by his wife of 44 years, Peggy Ellen Turner. He was raised in Stinnett. He served in the Army, stationed in Germany for two years during the Korean War. He married Peggy Turner in 1962. They raised their children in Dumas until he retired from Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line after 30 years. On Dec. 31, 1988, they moved to Amarillo, where he spent the remainder of his years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gary Turner; a sister, Dorothy Caroline Turner; and a daughter, Terri Lynn Turner.
He raised three children, Terri Lynn Turner, who preceded him in death; John Daniel Turner; Trina Dee Scroggins; and a grandchild, Timothy Joseph Mundell.
His daughter, Terri, had Michelle Lynn Rhodes, Jeremy Michael Pendley and Timothy Joseph Mundell.
His son, John Daniel Turner has two sons, John Daniel Turner and John Dalton Turner.
His daughter, Trina Dee Scroggins, has five children, Dustin Jay DeFries, Sheena Roshele Maloy, Ryan Dee Scroggins, Shay Bradley Scroggins and Stephen Bray Scroggins.
He has 11 great-grandchildren, Bryson Pendley, 14, Austin Rhoades, 14, Kelsi Fortenberry, 13, Nicholas Rhoades, 7, Christopher Rhoades, 3, Amber Pendley, 13, Brianna Pendley, 2, Whitney Mundell, 11, Cody Mundell, 10, Ashley Mundell, 2, and Austin Maloy, 7.
