Daniel Edward Scroggins recently of Naperville

A visitation for Daniel Edward Scroggins, formerly of Noblesville, Ind., will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Grace United Methodist Church, 300 E. Gartner Road, Naperville. Interment will be in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery. He went to heaven Monday, Nov. 27, 2006. Daniel graduated from Naperville North High School in 2001, after an accomplished musical career that included lead oboist in the Naperville North Wind Ensemble and performance in the Naperville North Marching Band. He traveled extensively in Europe for performance with the Fox Valley Youth Orchestra and played in the Naperville Municipal Band. Upon graduation from high school, Daniel attended Northern Illinois University with a scholarship for organ performance. He continued his education first at Kishwaukee College in Malta, Ill., and most recently at College of DuPage, where he was a member of the Chamber Orchestra. Daniel served as church musician for Good Shepherd Lutheran Churc!
h of Romeoville, Ill., organ assistant at St. Raphael Catholic Church In Naperville and organist for Batavia, Ill., United Methodist Church. Daniel was an avid collector of musical instruments, books, coins, stamps and trains. His loving and gentle spirit will be missed by family and friends. Daniel is the beloved son of Wesley Edward and Mary Suzanne (nee Vice) Scroggins of Naperville and brother to Alison Lauren Barbier (nee Scroggins) of Peoria and Patrick Owen Scroggins, also of Naperville. Daniel is loved and missed by his extended family that includes maternal grandparents, Paul and Lillian Vice of Kirkwood, Ill., and paternal grandmother, Laura Juanita Creech of Alton, Ill. His paternal grandfathers, Harold F. Creech and Harold David Scroggins, preceded him in death. The family requests that donations be made to the Pipe Organ Fund at Grace United Methodist Church in Naperville.
