MOUNT ZION - Virginia L. Southers, 81 of Mt. Zion, formerly of Akron, Ohio, passed away at 12:17 A.M. Saturday, November 18, 2006 in Heritage Manor, Mt. Zion. Services celebrating Virginia's life will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, November 22, 2006 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be in Marrowbone Township Cemetery, Bethany. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Foundation. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com. Virginia was born on January 2, 1925 in Akron, Ohio, a daughter of George and Anna Elizabeth "Liz" (Farnsworth) Shook. She had worked for the Akron City Hospital for over 25 years. She was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple. Virginia married Grady G. Southers in Akron Ohio. He preceded her in death in 1970. Surviving are her daughter- Violet Jarvis of Mt. Zion, son- Dallas Southers of Decatur, AL., grandchildren- Lori (Michel) Cowger of Mt. Zion, Bonnie (Jeff) Scroggins of Decatur, Tammy (Ron) Johnson, Jason (Vicki) Stutts, Luke (Cynthia) Southers and Joe Southers all of Alabama, Joseph (Christy) Southers of Ohio and several great and great great grandchildren.
