CHARLESTON -- Ronald Lee Scroggins, 65, of Charleston, formerly of Decatur, died Thursday, (May 4, 2006) in his home. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Graceland Cemetery, with military rites by the Macon County Honor Guard. Private visitation for the family will be held prior to service. He was born March 13, 1941, in Rockford, a son of Nelson Edward and Mae Brummett Scroggins. Survivors include daughters, Tami Leigh of Pontiac, Ronda Hartman of Bloomington and Colene Smith of Bellville; brothers, Raymond Scroggins of Mount Zion and James Scroggins of Decatur; sister, Joanna Pearson of Navarro, Fla.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter and one granddaughter. Mr. Scroggins had worked at Caterpillar and for the Wabash Railroad. He was an Army veteran. Memorials are suggested to the Charity of Choice.
