URBANA -- Dorothy Anderson Brumleve, 54 of Urbana died at 2:34 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 20, 2005) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. Memorial service will be 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St. Champaign, with the Rev Jim Linder officiating. Friends may greet the family from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Brumleve was born May 11, 1951 in Champaign a daughter of Scott and Annabelle Scrogin Anderson. She married Timothy R. Brumleve on May 24, 1974 at Chapel Hill, NC. He survives. Other survivors include her father, Scott Anderson Sr. of Urbana; four sons, Jacob Daniel Brumleve of San Francisco, CA, Joseph Timothy Brumleve of Glenview, William Scott Brumleve of Paxton, Abraham Anthony Brumleve of Urbana; one daughter, Catherine Rebecca Roland of Champaign. She was preceded by her mother. Mrs. Brumleve graduated from University High School, Urbana in 1969 and earned a bachelor's degree in Germanic languages from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1973. She graduated with a master's degree in German Linguistics from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1977. Mrs. Brumleve was an author of many historical and genealogical reference books, a computer programmer of educational software, a collector of antique sewing machines, a former member of the Champaign Urbana Weaver's Guild, and served as president of the International Atari Developer's Association. Dorothy wished it to be known that she was the "Postcard History Phantom" responsible for numerous picture postcards sent to area residents.
