Virginia Ruth Scroggins, 63, of Modesto died Wednesday at Memorial Medical Center from injuries suffered in an automobile accident that day at Central Avenue and Hatch Road.
Mrs. Scroggins was a native of Texas. She lived in Modesto 47 years. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Village Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Ceres, and was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Loyd Scroggins of Modesto; children, Glenda Gunn and Wendell Scroggins, both of Modesto, and Olen Scroggins of Ceres; a brother, Olen Hollon of Paradise; sisters, Glenna Smith of Valley Springs and Willie Greer of San Andreas; and six grandchildren.
A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Village Chapel Free Will Baptist Church,Ceres. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs.
