MILAN - Bertha Mae Walters, 83, formerly of the Humboldt area, died Friday of apparent cardiac arrest at Ridgewood Health Care Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Humboldt Church of God with burial in Hopewell Cemetery near Medina. Hunt Funeral Home of Humboldt has charge. Mrs. Walters, the widow of Jimmy Scroggins [34586] and Carl Walters [tba], leaves six daughters, Allie Mai McEwen [34592] of Gibson, Martha Barnett [34596] of Bradford, Angelean Bradford [34595] of Milan, Gertrude Hill [34593] of Atwood, and Eva Corbin [34590] and LaNell Corbin [34589], both of Humboldt; two sons, Charles Scroggins [34591] and James A. Scroggins [37007], both of Milan; two stepdaughters, Betty Thetford of Nashville and Patsy Martin of Memphis, 29 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
