Sarah Elizabeth Myers Scroggins, 98 of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at her home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 21, 2017 in Lakewood Hall at Striffler-Hamby, Phenix City, AL with burial to follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. Troy Roberts will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 am until 1:00pm at the funeral home. Serving as pall bearers will be her grandsons.

Mrs. Scroggins was born October 24, 1918 in Barbour County, Alabama; daughter of the late Ira Ellis Myers and Eva Belle Clark Myers. She was a member of Evangel Temple in Columbus over 40 years. She was employed with Lummus Industries for 25 years; then AFLAC for a number of years, after which she worked as secretary to several area churches and was past president of the American Business Womens Association, Columbus Chapter.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Marvin Jacobs and Tom Scroggins [36183], son, Richard M. Jacobs, daughter, Joan Jacobs Lee, sister, Lane Roper, brother, I. Frank Myers; three grandchildren, Bradford Lee, Jennifer Lee Atchison and Mark Lee.

Survivors include her three daughters, Charleen Jacobs Willoughby (Landon Massey) of Phenix City, AL, Tina Scroggins Ferris [42595] (Knox [42598]) of Salem, AL and Rhonda Scroggins Long [42596] of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Danny Lee, Debi Jacobs, Garrett Jacobs (Kathy), Deanna Jacobs Bayless (Howard), Kim Massey Shores (Mickey), Jill Massey Sykes (Steve), Jason Massey (Dawn), Jeff Massey (Stacy), Matt Massey (Celia), Mike Massey (Nancy), John Massey, Libby Foster, Adam Hummell (Tracey); step-grandchildren, Christopher Ferris (Amy) and Christian Ferris; nephews. Bob Roper (Hazel), Ron Myers (Kay), 33 great grandchildren, eleven great great grandchildren, many friends and extended family members who will cherish and celebrate this beautiful Christian lady.
