Gail Lea Thomson, age 77, of Orland, Ca passed away peacefully on December 1, 2018 surr-ounded by family and friends. Gail was born, Gail Lea Scroggin, on January 17, 1941 in Los Angeles, CA. She grad-uated from Herbert Hoover High School in Glendale, Ca in 1958. Gail married Bruce A. Thomson in La Crescenta, CA on November 30, 1962 and they moved to Orland, Ca in 1966. They were able to celebrate their 56th wedding anniversary the day before she passed. Gail and Bruce had two children, dau-ghter Sue Ellen Laursen (Tim) and son Robert Bruce Thomson (Tami). The biggest joys in her life were her grand-children, Lee Justin Watson, Taylor Jo Thomson, and Tanner Bruce Thomson. She had many more 'grand-children' as she was known as Grandma Gail by friends of Lee, Taylor and Tanner. She was very involved in the Plaza School Community Club when Sue Ellen and Rob were students starting in 1970 and earned her 'Grandma Gail' status while helping in her grandchildren's classes and at their school events when they were students at Plaza School. Gail was a long time 4-H leader in Plaza 4-H. Gail worked at Johns Manville in Willows during the '80s and '90s, in the HR Dept. where she made many lifelong friends. Gail was a fun loving caring person who loved cooking wonderful meals for her family and friends. Gail is survived by her husband Bruce, daughter Sue Ellen her husband Tim, Daughter in law Tami, her 3 grand-children, Lee, Taylor, Tanner, her sister Cindy Ward and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Gail was preceded in death by her son Rob in 2015. At Gail's request no services will be held. The family requests memorial donations are to be made to Orland Volunteer Fire Depart-ment.
