After a life well-lived, our beloved wife and mother, Peggy Jo Scroggins Pappas, passed away peacefully in her home on July 19th, 2016. Born in Pasadena, Texas, Peggy spent her adult life in Houston, after graduating from the University of Houston. She was a well-respected member of the banking industry for more than 35 years, eventually retiring as Senior Vice President of Rosenburg Bank & Trust. In 1990, she met, and was instantly swept off her feet, by her soulmate John Pappas. They were wed in Kauai, which began a journey that became the 25 happiest years of their lives. They traveled often, in and out of the country, collecting treasured memories as they went. One of Peggy's passions was cooking. She became an extraordinary cook, her amazing culinary skills self-taught. She truly loved cooking and entertaining for her large group of close friends and her family.
Peggy is survived by her best friend and beloved husband John Pappas, her three children Crystal Fox, Kurt and Betty Sonntag, and Kellie and Bruce Bennett. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren, Corey Fox, Rachelle Fox, Annaliese Sonntag, Nicholaus Sonntag, Tanner Bennett, Austin Bennett, and Dawson Bennett. She leaves behind her brother Edwin Scroggins, and four nieces and nephews.
Peggy's big heart, warm hugs, and deep love will forever be missed.
