GREENFIELD – Ralph E. Scroggins, age 87, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born on October 28, 1928 in Aurora, IL as the son of Ralph [45907:Q] and Kathryn (Bookman) Scroggins. Ralph graduated from Somonauk High School in Somonauk, IL. He married Beverly (Hupach) [54407:Q, FaG:157444671] on September 20, 1952.
Ralph worked as an Engineer and finished his career as a Sales Engineer for Tower Oil and Technology Company in Chicago, from 1976-2002 before retiring. He was a member of Carnelian Masonic Lodge No. 40 of Lake City, MN. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed woodworking and was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church in Greenfield. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was passionate about sports, especially those sports involving his grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons, Jeff [52878:Q. fb] (Lisa) Scroggins [, fb] and Scott (Cori [52877:Q, fb]) Scroggins both of Greenfield; daughter, Jennifer (Rich) Rosemeyer of Greenfield; sister, Norma Anderson of Somonauk, IL; 10 grandchildren, Joshuwin [52879:Q, fb], Jerricho [52394:Q. fb], Alisha [, fb], Asia [, fb], Logan, Luke, Emma, Mitchell, Grace, and Trent; and 5 great-grandchildren, Darian [, fb], Gavin, Jacob, Devon, and Elliot. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; parents, Ralph and Kathryn Scroggins; and grandson, Logan Scroggins [51371:Q, fb].
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 4614. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. also at the mortuary. Pastor John Paulson will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
