Irene Biggs Hardy Scroggins, of Greenbrier, born July 12, 1918, went to be with the Lord on the 9th day of September, 2014.
Irene was a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and loved to worship there.
She was the number one Razorbacks fan on Horseshoe Mountain and enjoyed a personal relationship with several of the players and coaches over the years. She wore her Razorbacks red until the day of her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sheridan and Mona McKaskle Biggs; a son, Billy Hardy; two husbands, Hoyt Hardy and Jess Scroggins; and a sister, Mildred Hankins.
She is survived by son, Kirk Hardy and wife Peggy of Damascus; four grandchildren, Vicky Rogers and her husband Danny of Mayflower, Waverly Hardy of Greenbrier, Randy Hardy and wife Holly of Greenbrier and Shane Hardy and wife Sheila of Damascus; and four great-grandchildren, Taylor Williams, Tyler Hardy, Hannah Hardy, and Lacey Hardy.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, with visitation one hour before the service. Bro. Martin Jameson will conduct the service.
Burial will be at Bethlehem Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Jim Hardy, Terry Mac Howard, Rickey Watson, Frank Burgess, Nicky Mahan, and Derb Stone.
Honorary pallbearers are Sidney Moncrief, Eddie Sutton, and Nolan Richardson.

Joyce Nell Garrison sent me the following to share. Irene Biggs Hardy Scroggins passed away recently at the Greenbrier Nursing Center. Irene was born and raised in this community, the daughter of the late Sherd and Monia McKaskle Biggs. She was the wife of Hoyt Hardy and later Jesse Scroggins. She was the mother of Billy Hoyt and Sammie Kirk Hardy and sister to the late Mildred Hankins. When Irene was in high school at Greenbrier, she played basketball; She also had a very good alto voice and enjoyed singing. Irene was also the #1 Razorback Hog fan. Irene’s funeral was at Bethlehem Baptist Church and burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery.
