Deceased Name: Priscilla May Trammell
Priscilla May Scroggins Trammell , 72, received her ultimate healing, Monday, June 16, 2014, as she went home to be with her Lord.
She was preceded in death by her husbands: Lewis P. Trammell [52300] and John W. Scroggins; her father, Tom May Sr.; her mother, Willie Ruth May; her brother, Tom May Jr.; and her sisters: Pat M. Hysinger and Penny Stoops.
Most family and friends had two names they affectionately used, "Pris" and "Mom." Of course, there was none she preferred more than, "Mamaw." She had a way of lighting up when a conversation would arise about her grandchildren and had no problem showing them off or sharing about things happening in their life. She was a Mamaw most kids wish they had. It did not matter your walk of life, if you entered her home, she became your mom, and you became her child. She was actively involved with the Bradley County Foster Parents Association opening her home to countless children, showing the girls how to care for their own, and challenging the boys to be men.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Cora Ruth Shope and her husband, David and Ernie Scroggins; and stepdaughter, Sandy Trammell ; granddaughters: Renae Moore and her husband, Todd, Letitia Shope, Kaye Edwards and her husband, Josh; great-granddaughters: Kember Dunn, Jenna Swafford, Kaydence Swafford and Alexah Armstrong; she is also remembered fondly by her siblings: Bill May and his wife, Faye, Louise Morris and Phyllis Blackwell, and her husband, Pete; she also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
The family would like to extend appreciation to Brenda Green and her husband, Kenneth, and Cynthia Humes for their friendship and the care provided by Nancy Trammell , Toni Trammell , Brenda Day and Charlott Hewitt.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at 11 a.m. from the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes. The Revs. Johnny Bankston, The Rev. Bruce Edwards and the Rev. Josh Edwards will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Flint Springs Cemetery with Paul Hysinger, Gene Hysinger, Dallas Taylor, Dakota Taylor, Caleb Edwards and James Droke serving as pallbearers. Tim Taylor, Jeff May Sr. and Doug Blackwell will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society at 353 Worth St. Cleveland, TN 37311.
The family will receive friends this evening from 5 until 9 at the funeral home.
