Dolores Alsobrook Scroggins, 83, of Amarillo, died Sunday, June 1, 2014.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2014, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Jake Glover, grandson and pastor of Bethany Baptist Church in Dallas and J. Craig Glover, son-in-law officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Dolores was born Dec. 31, 1930, in Kansas City, Missouri to Harlan and Kathryn Peck.

In 1949, she married Rev. M. Alsobrook, and enjoyed the pastoral ministry with him, serving the Church of the Nazarene in four different states. They were blessed with a son, Dr. David Alsobrook and wife Mary of Nashville, Tennessee; and three daughters, Kathryn Alsobrook, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Joy Maloney and husband James of Argyle, Texas, and Rebecca Glover and husband Craig of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In 1991, she married Billy John Scroggins, becoming stepmother to sons Billy, Erick and wife Vicki, and Jeffrey Scroggins, and daughter Jada Jackson and husband Mike. The Scroggins have been long-time members of The Church at Quail Creek where Mr. Scroggins served as a deacon.

She was preceded in death by Rev. Alsobrook in August of 1988; and two stepsons, Billy and Jeffrey Scroggins.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at the funeral home.
