Michael "Mike" Steven Scroggins , 55, of Pendleton, Ky., died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, in Pendleton, Ky.
He was born Nov. 15, 1958, in Covington, Va., to Russell and Shirley Bush Scroggins . He was a 1977 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School. He served in the Marines during the Gulf War. He was previously employed at the Indiana-Kentucky Electric Corporation and was currently at Safety Kleen. He attended New Castle First Baptist Church. He enjoyed studying the Bible, fishing, playing golf, hunting, photography and drawing pictures.
He is survived by wife of 19 years, Dawn Bayer Scroggins ; three children, Michael Steven Scroggins II of Pendleton, Ryan Russell Scroggins of Vanderbilt, Mich. and Sierra Brooke Scroggins of Pendleton, Ky.; his parents of Madison; one sister, Anita O'Neal of Madison; two nieces; and many other relatives.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ryker's Ridge Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the Marines and Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion.
Friends may call at the Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford, Ky. Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the service.
