She was born September 9, 1934 in Cleveland, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Sherman [51741:N] and Stincy Dee (Roberson) [51742:N] Scroggins. After graduating from Wonderview High School in 1952, she received her cosmetology license. She worked for Crompton Mills for 21 years and then retired from Conway County Hospital and received the recognition as Conway County Hospital Employee of the year. She was a member of Perryville Immanuel Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Mitchell; daughters, Eva Briggler (Barry) Stobaugh of Kenwood, Beckie Mitchell (Ron) Ridings of Pierre, South Dakota; son, Jim Mitchell of Little Rock; sister, Judy Givens of Morrilton; brothers, Shorty (Patsy) Scroggins and Ronnie (Debbie) Scroggins all of Morrilton; grandchildren, Cassie Stobaugh (Jeff) Chapman and Lindsay Stobaugh, Nikki Ridings (Aaron) Johnson and Bubba (Michele) Ridings, Marcus and Tristan Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Cade and Seth Chapman, Kady and Hayes Johnson, Aidan, Bryce and Corbin Ridings; one aunt and one uncle; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 8 at Harris Chapel with Rev. Gerald Alexander officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Fred Givens, Robert Bartlett, Benny McClure, John Dean Hale, Todd Scroggins, Matt Scroggins, Robert Stobaugh and Blake Gatling. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Perryville Immanuel Church of the Nazarene Mission fund or charity of your choice. |
