She graduated from Reedley igh School in 1948 and Reedley College in 1950. She moved to Fresno and worked in administration for Sun Maid Raisins for several years. On May 29, 1957, Nighel married Ben R. Huebert and they started building their life together in Reedley. In June of l962 her only child Robert was born. Nighel was known for her strong committ-ment to the city of Reedley and was an active volunteer and member of many civic and charitable organizations throughout her life. She was a long time member of the Reedley First Baptist Church and volunteered as the Church Secretary for many years. She played an active role in Lee's Service, the business her husband built and their son currently leads. "Mom may not have been at the office every day, but her presence was always felt and will continue to be" said Robert. She was a friend and supporter to many employees over the years. "She and Ben left Reedley a better place than they found it" said Michael White, Interim President of Reedley College. Nighel was a active bridge player and played in several groups in Reedley. She enjoyed the fellowship of others and relied heavily on the support of so many after the death of her husband Ben in 2005. Her family will always be grateful to this network of special ladies. "She was humorous, caring and so generous and welcoming; who doesn't appreciate a clever woman with an opinion and articulated point of view", said a friend of the family. Nighel is predeceased by her parents; two sisters, Marie Rogers and Helen Jackson; and her beloved husband Ben. She is survived by three brothers, Walter Scroggins and his wife Betty, Haskell Scroggins, and Adron Scroggins and his wife Sherryn. Nighel is also survived by her son Robert and his wife Kathy (Horstmann); and the "joy of her life", grandson Sam; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends whom she treasured and loved. The family would like to thank the doctors who cared for her over the years and the ICU Staff at St. Agnes Medical Center who tried so feverishly to heal her last week with God's guidance.
