Martha Elizabeth Mausshardt, 72, of Pana, died Friday, March 1, 2013 in Decatur. She was born September 15, 1940 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Robert E. [373:L] & Mary Genavieve Bateman Scroggins [34121:L]. Martha was a graduate of Pana High School Class of 1958 and graduated from Chrysler Beauty Academy in Taylorville. Martha was a beautician and later sold Combined Insurance where she won many awards. While growing up, Martha lived in Texas, Peoria, Auburn, Millersville and Pana. She later had lived in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Peoria prior to coming back to Pana. She loved her children and grandchildren and attending their many activities and sports. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, music, going to plays and had a gift for caring for others. She was a very active member of First United Methodist Church of Pana where she sang in the choir, served on the Church Care Team, started the Children's Cardinal Choir now the Blue Angel Choir, was a lay delegate to Annual Conference and was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Kitchen Class. She was also a member of the Pana Community Hospital Auxiliary. The route from the Pana Hospital to the helipad was named "Martha's Way" in her honor. She was a former member of Pana Junior Women's Club, Home and Garden Club and Home Extension.

Martha married Carl William Mausshardt II in April l990 in Las Vegas, NV.

She is survived by her husband: Carl William Mausshardt II, Pana, IL; children: Gerald Culberson, Jr. & wife Tracy, Springtown, TX; Beth Hilton & companion Dan McLeod, Pana, IL; Molly Mosely & husband Mike, Pana, IL; Troy Culberson & wife Jenny, Pana, IL; 13 grandchildren: Allison Walradth; Clinton Culberson; Sara Coleman; Rebekah Simpson; Melissa Hilton; Matthew Mosely; Mallorie Mosely; Max Mosely; Mackenzie Mosely; Trenton Culberson; Jacob Wicks; Jesse Wicks and Nicholas Culberson; 6 great grandchildren: Birdie Mae Culberson; Ayda Carr-Coleman; Elliot Coleman; Sawyer Coleman; Connor Simpson; Gracie Simpson; brothers: Robert Scroggins [35882:L] & wife Carole [], Tower Hill, IL; Herman Scroggins [38953:L] & wife Carrol [42952:L], Swansboro, NC; Leroy Scroggins [], Raeford, NC; sisters: Pat Bland [40262:L] & husband Raymond [42957:L], Princeton, IL; Barbara Askelson [40178:L]& husband Steve [42960:L], Rockford, IL; Nancy Rehm []& husband Frank [], Schaumburg, IL; and Mary Kuhn [] & husband Randy [], Seven Lakes, NC. She was preceded in death by her father on November 18, 1968, mother on August 21, 1987, daughter Marjorie Elizabeth [] in infancy on May 27, 1962, and sister Sue Johnson [40312:L].

Funeral Information

Funeral services will be held Saturday March 9, 2013 in First United Methodist Church, Pana at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Rosemond Grove Cemetery, Rosamond. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church, Pana.
