Carrol Scogings Wellington
Obituary
1933 ~ 2013
Carrol Scogings Wellington [51602:I], loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away March 6, 2013.

She was born January 15, 1933 in Bountiful, Utah to Alton Philip [12082:I] and LaNora Briggs [12092:I] Scogings. She married her sweetheart, Walter Eugene (Gene) Wellington [tba] on September 3, 1954 in St. George, Utah.

Carrol was a long-time employee of the Cottonwood Hospital Business Office and enjoyed helping people resolve problems; often going the extra mile to help them out. She was concerned about others and looked for ways to help. She was always grateful for what she had and appreciative for those blessings she enjoyed.

Mom loved her family. She loved reading to her grandchildren and enjoyed handwork, as well as making items for her family and the LDS Humanitarian Center. She made fine-detail counted cross-stitch pictures for family members, children's clothing and clown dolls for charity. Her home-made chicken pot pies, cookies and Christmas buffets were family favorites.

She is survived by her four sons, Brad (Marilyn), Alexandria, Virginia; Steve, Hyde Park, Utah; Ross (Nyla), Murray, Utah; John (Nancy), Salt Lake City, Utah; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and sister Helen Leavitt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Eugene (Gene) Wellington; her parents; her step-father, Robert Cunningham; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Wellington; and granddaughters, Lindsay Wellington and Nicole Wellington.

Mom fought a valiant fight and was cheerful to the end; expressing love to her family and those who cared for her. Mom was loved by her family very much. She will be missed, and we look forward to being reunited with her and Dad in the hereafter.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Mom's caregivers from Rocky Mountain Hospice and The Wentworth.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 11, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, Murray, Utah, with a visitation for family and friends from 10:30-11:00 a.m. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to LDS Humanitarian Services.

Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.jenkins-soffe.com
