SHERMAN, Texas — Agnes Marie Scroggins Carter died Monday. Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Cox Funeral Home, Bastrop. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hughes Chapel Cemetery.

Agnes Marie Carter was born January 5, 1934 near Crossett, Arkansas to the late Julis Robert Scroggins [48604] and Cora Lee Waites Scroggins [44911]. She passed away Monday, September 12, 2011 at the Icon Hospital in Humble, Texas. Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Howard Scroggins [48608], Robert Martin Scroggins [48606], Allen Scroggins [48605], James Scroggins [47808]; a sister, Myrtle Meeks [48596]; sister-in-law, Connie Griffis Scroggins [43317]; and brother-in-law, James Bounds [].
Mrs. Carter is survived by her three children, Janice Simpson [] of Shepherd, Texas, Roy Gene Carter [] of Houston, Texas, and Robert Allen Martin [] of Plantersville, Texas; a brother, Floyd Scroggins [43320] of Bastrop; four sisters, Lois May [] and her husband, Joe May of Monroe, Louisiana, Sue Bounds [48941] of McNeil, Mississippi, Beatrice Nealy [48942] and her husband, Don Nealy [] of Bastrop, Bertha Fortune 48943] and her husband, Darwin [] of Ruston, Louisiana, three sisters-in-law, Mary Ruth Scroggins [48607], Bonita Scroggins [], and Martha Jane Scroggins [] all of Bastrop.
