Katherine "Mama" Martin (1918 - 2011)
Katherine "Mama" Martin, 92, passed away Thursday, July 7, 2011. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Monday in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Katherine, born Aug. 4, 1918, in Marlin to Jesse T. Scroggins [10541] and Mary Stacks Scroggins [10542], was known as "Mama" to her family. She retired from Volkswagen of America in 1983. She was a very loving, kind and generous woman. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Mama was one of a kind and will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Martin, in 2009.
Survivors: Daughter, Sandra Bailey and husband, Bobby; son, Ronnie and partner, Janet Keller; daughter, Sherry Rushing and husband, Gary; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
