Helen Owens/Freels (1943-2010)ODESSA Helen Owens Freels beloved mother, "Nana," sister and friend went home to be with our Lord and savior on Friday, October 22, 2010, at the age of 67.
Helen "Nana" was a gentle, kind and loving person who will be dearly missed by all those who where blessed to know her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman Edwards and Ruby and Buddy Scroggins; and her beloved pet of 13 years, J.J.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Stanley Wayne Freels and wife Tammy Tillman of Springtown, TX; and Chris Freels of Paradise, TX; three grandchildren, Mackenzie Freels of Odessa, TX, Ashlyn Freels and Shalon Tillman of Springtown, TX; two sisters, Sandra Emerson and husband Warren of Farmington, N.M. and Kathy Smith of Odessa, TX; two brothers, Richard Edwards of Beaumont, CA., and Wayne Scroggins and wife Brenda of Marshall, TX; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; second mom, Linda Ford of Houston, TX; very dear friends, Charlie and Diane Herron of Odessa, TX; and many other dear friends.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Midessa Heights Baptist Church, with Deacons Pete Drennan, Jimmy Maddox and Sam Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials be donated to Midessa Heights Baptist Church, 1307 County Road 124 West, Odessa, TX 79765.
