Lucille "Snooks" Scroggins (20 Apr 1920 - 24 Sep 2010) [25226]

PALMYRA-Lucille "Snooks" Scroggins, 90, of Palmyra passed away Friday morning, September 24, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born April 20, 1920 in Modesto the daughter of Roe and Cecile Morrow Hicks. She married Ray Harry "Bear" Scroggins [23181] on March 2, 1942 and he preceded her in death in 1973.

She is survived by two sons, James [] (wife, Nancy) Scroggins of Jefferson City, MO and Richard [] (wife, Joyce) Scroggins of Delta, CO; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters.

Mrs. Scroggins graduated from Modesto High School. She worked for many years for the Palmyra Northwestern School District as a cook. She was a member of the Modesto Baptist church and enjoyed crocheting.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Stults-Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Palmyra with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 4-7 on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Northwestern Rescue Squad.
