SPRINGFIELD - Marjorie D. Hood (nee McHenry), born April 11, 1928, to Edward C. and Gertrude M. (nee Scroggins) McHenry at Springfield Hospital, died Friday, March 12, 2:26 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL.

Marjorie retired from St. John's Hospital laundry department. She also was the cook and seamstress for the Falcon and Statesmen Drum and Bugle Corps. She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts and served as a Girl Scout troop leader. She was the Grand Noble of Rebekah Lodge. She was a very active member of Third Presbyterian Church. She always had a hug for everyone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert F. on September 20, 2009; parents; a sister, Norma Jean; a brother, Noah; a son, Kevin; and a grandson, Daniel.

She is survived by six children, Cheri Deverman, Albert L. Hood, Susan Mudd, Robin Hood, Kathy (Gary) Harrison and Pete (Carol) Hood; two brothers, Edward and Norman (Sue) McHenry; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Third Presbyterian Church, 1030 N. 7th Street, Springfield, IL, on Tuesday, March 16, 2010. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. with Reverend Brent Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Third Presbyterian Church.
