ADAMS, DANIEL EUGENE "Dan", 61, of Apopka, FL. He was a former resident of Madison and graduated in 1966. He was inducted into the United States Army on July 19, 1966 at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He rose to the rank of Sergeant serving in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on July 18, 1972 from St. Louis, MO receiving the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medals with Sixty Device. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam with the 173rd Air Bourne Division and was awarded the Bronze Star and The Purple Heart Medals. He was united in marriage to Judy D. Crowe in Apopka, FL on June 5, 1992. He was a self employed owner and operator of D & E Fernery in Apopka, FL. He had resided in Florida since 1969. He attended the Round Lake Christian Church in Mt. Dora, FL. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his grandson and grandchildren, they were the love of his life. Daniel died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009 at 3:56 p.m. at the Florida South Hospital in Apopka, FL. Dan will be missed by his loving wife Judy Crowe Adams of Apopka, FL; his daughter, Andrea Ruth and her husband Ryan, of Mt. Dora, FL; and his grandchildren, Tyler, Tessa and Molly; his daughter Carol Elburg and her husband Mark of Madison, IN and his grandson, Michael; his son Sergeant First Class Daniel Eric Adams and his wife Rebecca of Ft. Schafter, HI and his grandson, Daniel; his loving sisters Jan Ligon and her husband Peyton of Birmingham, AL, Bonnie Auxier and her husband Tim of Dupont, IN, Patti Frazier of Madison, IN, Cheryl Ashby and her husband Jim of Madison, IN; his uncle and aunt Russell [38993] and Shirley [38994] Scroggins of Madison, IN; his sister-in-law Sherilyn Adams of Kona, HI; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father William H. "Bill" Adams [38658], died Feb. 13, 2000; his mother Mary Charlotte Scroggins Adams [38657], died April 3, 2004; his brothers John Lynn Adams, died in 1997, William Joseph "Bill" Adams, died July 4, 2006. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009 at 11 a.m. by Bro. Jim Lane at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Dr. in Madison, IN. Military honors will be conducted in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, IN by Jefferson Post 9, of the American Legion. Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 until time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Dr. in Madison, IN.
