Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mount Pulaski. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday. Burial: Steenbergen Cemetery, Mount Pulaski. Robert D. Aylesworth

MOUNT PULASKI - Robert D. Aylesworth, 70, of Mount Pulaski died at 7:24 a.m. Sunday, March 1, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 17, 1938, in Mount Pulaski, the son of Charles Leroy and Geneva Benzinger Aylesworth. He married Sharon Elaine Miller on Feb. 8, 1964, in Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Aylesworth retired as a custodian from Mount Pulaski Grade School after 31 years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski. He was also a member of the Mount Pulaski Phoenix Fire Department for 27 years and was a founding member of the Mount Pulaski ambulance service.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon Aylesworth of Mount Pulaski; a daughter, Kathy (John) Butcher of Mount Pulaski; son, John (Tricia) Aylesworth of Mount Pulaski; seven grandchildren, Ben Butcher, Sami Butcher, Becky (Tim) Cordani, Shelby Young, Elaine Aylesworth, Emma Aylesworth and Kayla Aylesworth; two great-grandchildren, Adrianna and Aaron Cordani; two brothers, Charles "Sonny" (Barbara) Aylesworth of Mount Pulaski and George (Arlene) Aylesworth of The Colony, Texas; three sisters, Dorothy Malone of Springfield, Betty Scroggin of Mount Pulaski and Mary (Don) Nelson of Fairfax, Va.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. Services will be held there at 10 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2009, with the Rev. Frank Pieper officiating. Burial will be in Steenbergen Cemetery in Mount Pulaski.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or Mount Pulaski Phoenix Fire Department.
