HARRISBURG -- John Wayne Lindsey Sr., 67, of Harrisburg died Sunday, May 4, at his home.
Born at Tupelo, Miss., he was a carpenter and contractor who built homes in the Harrisburg and Wynne areas for 35 years. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Harrisburg and was a former member of the Arkansas Army National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Dempsey Lindsey of the home; one son, John W. Lindsey II of Harrisburg; three sisters, Faye Lucas of Heafer, Sylvia SCROGGINS of Birdeye and Mary Thompson of Corning; and one grandson, John Walter Lindsey of Harrisburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Belmont B. and Lillie Mae Gillitine Lindsey.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cornerstone Baptist Church, with the Revs. Captain Lovell and Glenn Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park under the direction of Jackson's Harrisburg Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Frankie Lindsey, Jack Stalnaker, Lohnes Tiner, Randy Graves, Clay Hubbard, Doyle Davis, Charlie Newcomb, Bobby Cox and Richard Rudolph.
Honorary pallbearers will include the men of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the building fund of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
