Jewell Flinn Scroggins, 90, of Ringgold, died Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at a local hospital.
A lifelong resident of the North Georgia and Chattanooga area, she was a graduate of Central High School in Chattanooga and a former employee of Loveman's Department Store where she worked for 16 years. She was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church in Graysville, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas D. Scroggins [tba:A]; parents, Lee Ander and Hettie Shelton Flinn; sister, Elna Flinn Johnson, and brothers, Ben Flinn, George Flynn and Raymond Flynn.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane Scroggins [tba, fb] of Ringgold; son and daughter-in-law, David [] and Lois Shingledecker Scroggins [, fb] of Hallsville, Tex.; sister, Willie Lee Flinn of LaFayette, Ga.; special friend and caregiver, Mark Earhart of Ringgold; four grandchildren, Bethany Scroggins [tba:, fb] of Nashville, Angela Scroggins [tba, fb], Sarah Scroggins [tba, fb] and Thomas Scroggins [tba, fb] all of Hallsville, Tex.; one great-grandchild, Kathryne Renai [tba:, fb] of Hallsville, Tex., and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. James Boyd officiating.
Interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 4-9 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.
