"Margaret Kerr Spraggins
SPRAGGINS, MARGARET KERR, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2006, after a short illness. She was born July 12, 1927 in Denver, Colorado and lived most of her life in Birmingham AL. Mrs. Spraggins was a member of St. Stevens Episcopal Church and was retired from Green Springs Animal Hospital after many years of service in the administrative office. She was a long time member of Credit Women International. Her loving husband, James Austin Spraggins of Birmingham preceded her in death. She is survived by her three daughters: Mary Lou Martin, of Fort Worth, TX; Janice Annette Smith and husband Larry of Gadsden and Rebecca Claire Cooper and husband Kelly of Leeds; six grandchildren: James Allen Scroggins, of Fort Worth, TX, Michael Ray Scroggins and wife Jennifer of Dallas, TX, Charles Lamar Smith and wife Sheila of Sand Rock, AL, Margaret Annette Stewart and husband Michael of Sand Rock. AL, Mary Miranda Kendrick and husband Joshua of Birmingham and Matthew Richmond Cooper and wife Leah Cooper of Moody, AL; five great grandchildren: Amber O'Conner, Joshua Michael Scroggins, Steven Nicholas Scroggins; Hannah Makaela Stewart; and Somer Grace Stewart; sister, Frances Handke of Little Rock, AK. Her graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 26, 2006 at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be sent to Episcopal Place, 1112 26th Street South, Birmingham, AL 35205. Ridout's Elmwood Chapel, 205-251-7227, is directing.
