John W. Scroggins Dies at Residence
John William Scroggins, 222 West Cook Street, died at the residence at 10:30 p.m. yesterday. He was 70 years old.
Mr. Scroggins was a retired coal miner. He was born in Mt. Pulaski. He had been a resident of Springfield for the last 10 years.
Surviving him are his wife, Margaret; three sons, Ray S. of Auburn, Corp. William, Jr., of the U.S. Army in New Guinea, and Hobart of Springfield. He also leaves eight grandchildren.
Remains were removed to the Vancil Funeral Home. Funeral announcement later.
John William Scroggins was the son of Sanford and Mary Ellen Chambers Scroggins.
